Michigan - August 2000
We went on a camping trip to Michigan in August. On the way there we stopped at The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. Although the museum is very nice, it was hard to fully enjoy everything with Chrissy and Tommy. they really showed very little interest in the exhibits. Then we were off to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore along Lake Michigan. The best part about that park is the gigantic mountains of sand that you can climb up and then run down. Lots of fun! Next we stopped at The Father Marquette National Memorial only to discover that a fire caused by lightning in March, 2000 completely destroyed everything there. No Stamp! We then drove to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore on the upper peninsula of Michigan. Our campground was right at Lake Superior and we saw two incredible sunsets from the shore. On the way home we drove through Ontario, Canada and stopped at Niagra Falls. The falls themselves are very impressive, but we were disappointed with the very large crowds of people. Way too crowded! The total passport book stamp count for the trip was 10 new stamps.
