This is where I play the part, which part you may ask?

Well my friend that depends on what part needs me of course.

As you browse my site you can link to different sections like Parts I have played, Various Head Shots, my Background, Church Involvement, and Current Projects. More may be added later, but for now Here is my acting page.

Barrabas is one of several parts I played when I was the general understudy for the Living Word Outdoor Drama in Cambridge Ohio.

Bartimaus was another part I played at the Living Word. Bartimaus is a blind man who washes in the pool of Siloam and receives his sight before the crowd. The fun fact about playing Bartimaus is that I played the part with my eyes wide open and I sometimes had extras back stage believing I was blind as I was getting into character prior to performance.

Playing Christ on the cross was my first experience with stage acting, it was a very physical role that required me to hang on the cross and die ten feet from the audience. The pastor said he sat on the front row and could not see me breathing, this was due to much prayer and much practice. The end result is that God got much glory and I had a pleasant response to my first acting experience.

Simeon is another Biblical character and is my first part that I wrote. This was a one-man one act play that lasted about 30-40 minutes. The part consisted of Simeon (Luke 2:25) telling how the Lord revealed to him that he would see the Christ before he die, and how he spent his life learning all he could about the Messiah. This part has a lot of Old Testament scriptures used to point the way to the Messiah of the Jews.

So now you have seen me in a few roles,

the other info you may want to know about me may include

background, church involvement, and current projects.

Background

I was born in 1965 and have grown up in the Greater Columbus area where I attended Johnstown High School. I never got interested in drama in school as I was not interested in school at the time anyways. I got married in November of my senior year and dropped out of school in January to support my new wife. After three years of marriage we had two children (separated by 18 months) and after five years I decided to go back to get a GED (General Education Diploma). Five more years passed before I went to school at Cedarville College (now Cedarville University) and four years after that I walked away with my BA in Biblical studies. My last two years of college I spent my spare time (that’s a joke for those who have not been to college) as a pastor of a small church in the neighboring town to Cedarville (and I thought students stayed busy). I left the pastorate just before graduation and have been working on glorifying the Lord through drama and technical assistance.

Church Involvement

As a young man I do not remember my parents taking me to church, however I attended several Vacation Bible Schools during the summers. At the age of nine a Bible School teacher asked me if I wanted to accept Jesus as my Savior and I said yes. I was not a member of that church and I didn’t join a church for a long time after that but at that young age I asked and I know in my heart that Jesus accepted me. I didn’t grow in the Lord for several years and I didn’t know I was missing anything since I didn’t know any mature Christians. When I was 18 I got married and promised a minister that I would join his church if he would marry my wife and I for free. We promptly moved to another town after the wedding. It was three years before our oldest son was born and when he was born but when he was born I promised God I would raise that child in church. The first Sunday we went to church for my son, since then we have been growing in the Lord and serving Him faithfully. Two years after my oldest son was born I began to feel God calling me into the ministry. I felt that a call to ministry was a call to go back and get my education so I went and took an exam to get my GED, afterwards I got several opportunities to preach in small churches, and was licensed by the church where I first got an opportunity to act (see the role of Christ on the cross above). Five years after I achieved my GED I applied to get into Cedarville College and spent the next 4 years studying at Cedarville and the final two years I pastured Victory Baptist Church. I have written and performed a couple of skit sermons. The most performed skit sermon is performed at Easter time and it is a depiction of Peter on resurrection morning.

Current Projects

Currently I am seeking opportunities to glorify Jesus Christ through drama and preaching in churches, plays and movies. To date I have had opportunity to preach and perform in many churches and act in the Living Word Outdoor Drama. I am currently in the process of writing a passion play that I hope to help produce at our church. I have already obtained rights to some of the music for the play though I am not done writing it.
