- Lost without Napster? Then don't bother with Win-Mx either, RIAA are suing their arse too!
- Not happy with your MP3 download?
Some songs have 30 seconds of blank at the beginning or 9-minute Dance remixes with a 3 minute fade-out, chop it down to size with TOTAL RECORDER.
Click the TR43SE.EXE link to download a self-extracting 1MB file for Windows This recording tool allows you to play individual MP3's or WAV formats and chop songs down to size via the use of precision Markers on screen. The download is free forever, however if you register the product this opens up the true power by allowing unlimited sound recordings from the line-in socket on the back of your PC. Eg: If you have a CD-Writer, you can channel your old LP's or Audio cassettes through TOTAL RECORDER and then compile them onto CD. Registration costs $11.95 american dollars, payment can be made with British Visa cards, this translates to about 8.50 one-off charge. (without registration, the Line-input recording facility lasts 40 seconds maximum each time you use it.)
- Convert Music files from WAV to MP3 and vice versa using CDEX
.
(CDEX also makes for a great CD-ripper which copies your existing CD collection, automatically names each track via CDDB, and puts them onto your hardrive in MP3 or WAV format.)
- Lyric sheets are available for the latest Top-10 hits and popular older songs at Leonie's Lyrics.
In addition I have recently found two more excellent sites called azlyrics, AND lyricsfreak.com which come Highly recommended.
- Downloaded a Mono or low Bit-rate quality MP3?
Use dB power AMP
to convert poor sounding tracks into simulated-stereo quality with a bit-rate of your choosing. Eg: mono 56 Kbs bit-rate into near-stereo 128 Kbs.
Essential for CD-Writing, since I believe MP3's have to be 128 bitrate in order to paste onto audio CD.
After discovering this little audio tool, I have to confess I had to change my pants :P
