Make sure the cage is big enough for as many mice/rats your getting remember mice/rats don't like being alone so maybe it is a good idea to get at least 2. The cage should be big enough for them to run around in and everything should be easy acesed for the older ones. |

Make sure every member of your family doesn't mind a mouse/rat in the house and is willing to look after it when your away. Make sure you are aloud to take it to the vet. |

Make sure you know a fair bit about your new pet like what they eat, there cage size, what gender is better to you,if you should breed or not or anything else you find important believe me with a mouse/rat in the house you will learn something new every day. |
