Tribute: Dear King Family I can only imagine the shock and grief you must be experiencing. Micah contributed so much toward making the world a better place by ministering to and nurturing our future. You as a family have all shown immeasurable love, compassion, and caring for so many for so long. My prayer for you in this time of grief is that you receive in return X 10,000 some of the love, comfort and support you've always so freely given to others. I will always remember Micah with a smile on my face and in my heart. He certainly had a way with people of all ages.

Name: Deb King Dandridge
Relation: Aunt
Tribute: The day Micah was born I went to stay with Matt while Tom and Sheila went to the hospital. Ben stayed at Nana's because it was early. Matt and I waited for the phone call to say his brother had arrived. Somehow, Aunt Debbie took a wrong turn on the way to the hospital and we wandered for awhile, almost ran out of gas, then called Tom. Matt thought it was a grand adventure. When we got to the hospital, and the nurse held Micah up for us to see, Matt beamed with pride. Micah spent the rest of his life making us smile and laugh. He loved to follow Matt and Ben around and wanted to do whatever they did. Whatever Micah did, he did it with his whole heart and soul. My favorite picture of Micah was taken on a trip to Galveston. Micah was around 3 years old, I think. He was striding towards the ocean with a smile and great purpose in his face, a spoon in hand. Micah loved to eat. I've seen him sleep through all kinds of noise then wake from a sound sleep at the smell of food. On Holidays, when I would make pies or piecrust, Micah wanted me to make a crust just for him. Nothing in it, just the crust. I like the crust best, too. Micah was an amazing actor and artist. I loved going to his plays. His makeup and accent for an Irishman was so good, I wouldn't have known him if I had met him on the street. Micah was kind and giving. He always took time for anyone who needed him. When Ben died in November, he drew a beautiful picture of Ben for me. I thanked him, with the intention of writing a letter to let him know how much that meant to me. I regret not having done so. He was a great artist. There are so many memories of good times I can't recount them all. Micah was the best of everything that is good in life. He had many friends and he was friend to many. Micah always accepted others as they were. My boys, Ben and Tim, knew they could count on Micah to be there for them, no matter what, without judgement. Micah was loved and will be greatly missed. Love Aunt Deb

Relation: Co-worker & Friend
Tribute: First, Your family is in our prayers. We had counselors at Caldwell talk to the kids about Mr. Micah. It was incredible to see how many parents showed up in support. So many of the teachers, parents, and kids talked to me about how much Micah did for them and the impact he had on them. Many of the staff are taking it hard because Micah did make an impact here. I will miss him. He challenged me to be better and do more for these kids. Micah was special to me and the Club. Mr. Micah was a more than just an employee of the Boys & Girls Clubs. He was a friend and advocate for kids of all ages. He not only impacted kids but also changed the lives of many staff. Everyday when Micah left the club he gave everything he had to the kids. I will miss him as well as the many staff, and kids he impacted. Our prayers are with the King family. Micah will always be a part of our family. I will share the news with the staff. We have had many parents asking what they can do.

Relation: Friend of family
Tribute: Dear Tom, Sheila, Matt, Megan, Nancy, Will & Mindy: I can't imagine what can anyone say to make all of this better except that Micah will be with our Lord when you see him again. I can't say that I know what you are going through because I can't. I can't imagine facing what this family has been forced to face this week. I didn't have the blessing to know Micah as well as I wish I had, but what I did know of him he was awesome! I too am trying to be an advocate for the children in my spare time; but Micah was 24/7! For that I so admire him from the bottom of my heart. Tom, as I read the obituary that you wrote I had a picture in my mind of Micah sitting in the middle of that floor with the kiddos with a ring around his head and a big smile on all the children?s' face. I too have an etched memory of how wonderful Micah was. Micah has many crowns coming to him from his life here on earth, and he has etched a memory within many, many hearts and minds. Micah had a gift to love, and he did it. Micah had a gift to share and he did it. Micah had a lot of gifts that he freely shared with everyone that he touched. He was a special man. Micah will be missed. We love you all, and please know that there is a prayer on our hearts for this family. Love, Paula & Toby Cross

Dear Tom & Sheila:
I got your email address from Harley Larkin. I wanted to tell you guys how much I enjoyed Micah and his good humor. He was truly a remarkable man!

I hadn't seen Micah since the Day Care days, then out of the blue, 4 years ago I went on the Mexico Mission Trip with my Mother in-law. When we arrived in Mexico, Micah walked up to me and said, "You're Luke and Lindsay's Mom, aren't you?"

I said, "Yes." (couldn't place him)

Then he said, "I'm Micah and this is my sister, Megan. Don't you remember us? We're Uncle Tom and Aunt Sheila's Kids!" Wow. Time must have flown by. I had no idea where you or your kids had moved, and I certainly couldn't place him as an adult!

Micah was exceptionally intuitive. He was truly one of the kindest guys on the Mexico trips, and I always looked forward to seeing him during Spring Breaks!

Harley told me he had told ya'll the story of the old steer in Linares near our cabins...He was so serious when he pulled out his Bowie knife and said, "I think I can take him!" I just busted out laughing!

I will miss Micah and always carry his kindness in my heart.

I love and miss you guys,
Paula Westbrook

Dear Friends --

My heart and my prayers go out to you. Words seem so inadequate at such a time as this. Sheila, you sent such a consoling letter after we lost Robbie. I would like to do the same, but what can I say. I will say this: May our dear Lord wrap His incredible arms around you all. May this be a time of great comfort from Him. May your grief which is so extreme simply bind your hearts to each other and to Him. May this agony of loss and pain not be wasted--it is costing you so much--but let every moment of it serve to open the windows of your hearts to God's amazing light of love and grace.

I f you think of any way I can help, in a memorial service or in any other thing, please feel free to let me know.

May God bless you all.

Bob Bockmann

Tom and Sheila,

Gitti and I send our deepest condolence. I read this last Thursday and was in total shock. It took a couple of days for the reality to sink in. Tried to call last night but got no answer. Don't know what I would do if I were in your shoes. I know your faith in God has carried you through this time of sorrow. Our thoughts and feelings are with you.

We love you both very much

Dan and Gitti Wentzel
