Daily Diary Pt 1: Freshman Year - Reverse Order
Daily Diary Pt 2: Sophomore Year - Reverse Order:
Home

3/30/04 - Today marks the one month countdown until summer vacation. I spend the first week with my grandparents, and
I'm going to need help, be it in the form of illegal substances or self induced meditation (or mutilation) to be able to get
through it alive. My grandma is pretty close to being insane, and she's hard to bear over a long period of time. Of course
I love her, but only in small amounts. After that first week there, I head to the exciting White Pine for the rest of summer.
I'm not sure how I'm going to keep my sanity there. My mom has teased me that it shouldn't be that different there for me
than here, because I never do anything, (Which I awknowledge) but I like to think that here I have the OPTION of doing
things, whereas there...

3/15/04 - Whoops, realized my same "03" mistake again for the date...sorry about that. I suppose if that's the worst thing
I do to any of you we are all ahead of the game. Not much to report this time. I've been doing tons and tons of introspection
these past few days, and none of the answers I'm finding are all too positive. I think this has been caused by reading a book
for my English class, "A Hope in the Unseen" by Ron Suskind. The book is the true life tail of Cedric Jennings, an innercity
black kid who beats all odds to attend Brown University, where his REAL education begins. Cedric is very introspective
and I believe that this is rubbing off on me. Well, whatever the case is, I have been feeling increasingly angry and tired,
simultaneously. I'm sure that my roommates have felt this push, and I apologize to them, even though I haven't let them
read my site yet. Maybe someday...

3/9/04 - Well, well, well, over a month since my last post, where have I been? Well, I could start by giving my Spring Break story,
but I really don't want to type that much. Let's just say it involves a lot of alcohol and some women. Enough said. It was nice to see
my friend Dave again. He broke up with his girlfriend nearly the first day I was there, which made things more interesting to say the
least. It was fun to be in the prowl with him again. I did a lot of shopping, and picked up four new shirts, a new pair of jeans, and some
nice cologne. Yeah, I'm a real lady killer. My birthday came and went without much fanfare, although my roommates took me out to eat
at an amazing Mexican place, and we went to see Starsky and Hutch, which I saw the day before with Harold, Earl and their mom. It was
good but not great, Will Ferrell really made the movie, even though he was only in it for a few minutes. Well, hopefully this marks
a return to normalcy for both me AND my website. Bye.

2/2/04 - I have all of my spring break plans finalized. I'm flying out of Detroit on Saturday, Feb. 22nd, to Chicago, where
my friend David will be picking me up. He will have turned 21 on the 18th, so expect nothing less than extreme debauchery
from the two of us. I will fly back Feb. 28th, then it's back to class.

As many of you know, the Super Bowl was on last night, with the NE Patriots beating the Carolina Panthers. The result is
not the biggest story of the night, however, it's undoubtably the boob slip. Of course, Chad has the story in it's near
entirety. Way to go Chad!

1/30/04 - Well, it was good to find out I wasn't up to par before I made a fool out of myself. All I can say is NEXT! A few
years back I would have been really affected by rejection, but I don't really care anymore. That's a big step. I have plans
with the next potential tonight, so we'll have to see how that goes...

1/24/04 - I had a great night last night. The fraternity Sigma Nu, which my roommates are brothers in, had a
party that I planned on attending. A friend of mine, who I must say I have more than just a friend-like interest in,
asked me if I wasnted to go to a different frat first with her, then we would go to Sigma Nu afterwards. Of course I
would never turn this opportunity down, so I accepted. We set a time to leave. Well, to make a long story short, I went
down to the room she was supposed to be at, but she was nowhere to be found. Surprise, surprise. I would have almost
rather she said she didn't want to go because she was washing her hair. Good job, way to make someone feel special.

1/20/04 - I just realized that I had been putting "03" as the year for all of my post new year writings, not only
on this site, but for my classes as well. I guess if that's the worst of my problems then I'm not doing too bad.
Today I was really busy, what with all of my social responsibilities as well as class and homework. Most of
it is fairly drab and boring, so I'll save you from that. The most exciting thing I did was an interview with one
of my professors, centered around the question of the role of argument in academics. He had some good
answers and we had fun with it. All around a good day.

1/15/04 - Last night was one of the best times I've had while at college. It snowed hard (For here at least)
all day long, culminating in 6 inches of fresh snow on the ground. My roommates and I got the word that
girls from the second floor were planning on having a snowball fight outside. When given an opportunity such as
this, you must take advantage. Needless to say, they weren't expecting us to come from behing and get them all
very snowy. After the massacre, someone had the brilliant idea to play some football at the nearbye park. In all
14 of us (half girls and half guys) trudged through the snow to the pristine and untouched field. My roommate Jake
and our friend from down the hall, Jake Wylie, were captains. I got selected with the first overall choice by my
roommate Jake, Wylie picked my other roommate, Dan, second. Everyone else was then picked and we prepared
to play. The game went very well, I played QB and deep safety, due to my knees, and had a great time. In all,
I through 4 TD passes (3 to girls, you've got to spread it around), as well as the most exciting and unexpected
play of the game. Wylie was playing QB and my team was playing excellent man-to-man D, leaving one girl wide
open. I snuck up and baited him to throw the ball, and we he did I exploded and intercepted the ball one-handed,
after tipping it up in the air. My mini-explosion caught everyone by surprise and I streaked down the sidelines
about 70 yards untouched. Wylie came close to catching me at the end, but I high-stepped through his diving attempt
and scored the TD. It was a great play and a great time. Afterwards, we all walked back, wet and freezing. Snow
football is the best!

1/6/04 - Happy New Year to everyone, I hope the holidays treated you well. Mine treated me pretty good, but
there isn't much to mention from my Winter Break. I took the bus up north, not a bad ride, considering. I met
two girls from Baraga on my way home, both were pretty good looking, so I can't complain. I got e-mails,
we'll just have to see where it leads. My exams went pretty awful, putting the cap on a WONDERFUL semester.
Here's to the New Year, new beginnings and new classes!

12/16/03 - Winding, winding, winding. It's getting closer to the end of the semester. I just have two more
exams and a paper due, then I'm done and off on a long, long busride North. I stocked up for the trip, 12
batteries, a booklight, around 15 new cd's(All burnt, ranging from Bob Marley to The All-American Rejects.),
three books(Harry Potter 2-4.), and a few other small items. I should be home the very early morning of the
20th, for those keeping track. Here's to the end of the semester!

12/12/03 - My roommate Jake was crabby today, for the first time ever. Normally, Jake is extremely goofy
and happy. Apparently last night I turned the heat on too high, and it woke him up and made him unable to go
back to sleep, a fact that he brought up nearly 5000 times today. This lack of sleep caused him to be very, very
crabby all throughout today. My other roommate, Dan, and I never ceased to tease him about being crabby,
which of course made things worse, culminating with this exchange at dinner:

Me: Jake, you are one crabby guy
Jake: You have no idea what would happen if I had a gun right now.
Me: Of course I do, you would put it down, because you are a calm, clear-headed individual who thinks
everything through before he acts, and who knows he has his whole life ahead of him.
Jake: I hate you.
Dan: (Laughing)

By the end of dinner, he was nearly back to the regular Jake that we all know and love, despite the best attempts
of Dan and I to keep him pissed off. I guess he saw the humor in what we were doing and decided he couldn't be
mad at us, especially since we are so darn cute.

I love my roommates.

12/10/03 - I've been getting a large number of hits recently (for me) thanks!

Exam coming up on Friday. Don't ask. Things are winding down quickly, while speeding up in other directions.
7 days, 4 exams, 1 written assignment. Doesn't sound too bad, I know. My last exam is the 18th, then it's off
to a much needed two week break! Not exactly sure how I'm getting home yet, but at the moment it seems like
I go fresh, I go easy, I go greyhound.

I've been getting into using a little more programming language so I'm slowly integrating some interesting things
onto my website, boring for most, I'm sure, but some people care, damn it!

12/9/03 - Closer, closer, closer. Every minute that goes by is one less minute left in this semester. I
can't wait for the next one to start so I can leave this one behind. I only really liked one of my classes
this semester, a required public speaking course that I feel benefitted me greatly. The teacher was really
helpful and energetic, and there's nothing like a room full of good looking girls to inspire me to go to class.
As horrible as it was, I will fondly remember this semester in some ways. If it weren't for this semester, I
would have never met my two roommates, who are quickly becoming two of my best friends. That's about
it though, throw the rest of the semester out the window as far as I'm concerned.

12/6/03(PM) - I still feel really dumb about losing my old posts. That's the second time in a few weeks that
I've done something like that. I accidentally deleted all of my mp3's just a while back. What a shame.

News from the college athletics front: Today Michigan lost their slim chances of making the Sugar Bowl, this
year's NCAA championship game. They needed both LSU and USC to lose in order to face Oklahoma. USC
won their game big, 52-28, rendering any later games meaningless in the eyes of the Wolverine's National Title
hopes. Michigan may meet the lower ranked BCS team, either LSU or USC, or even Ohio State again (UM 35,
OSU 21) in the Rose Bowl. The Michigan men's basketball team is currently undefeated and near to a Top 25
ranking for the first time in years. Go Blue! I think that's going to be all from me today. See you later.

12/6/03(AM)- Unfortunately I updated my site and lost all of my posts from earlier this year. Hope you all
enjoy the new site design, though.
