The Dub Thieves

Crew Information

Teaming – To team, click on the puzzle of the person you wish to fight.  The pirate you are fighting will have a white box around it.  Each dot represents one of your team members on that pirate.  When changing whom you will be teaming against, try to go with a pirate that has a puzzle box that is fuller than one that is emptier.  This will allow you to finish them off sooner.

If you are already in a team of two, do not change your team since your partner will not know that you have abandoned him/her.  Always check who you are teaming with since this does change often do to losses and players who can’t make up their mind as to who they want to attack.

Sword Fight – Battles with Brigands result in a sword fight.  Always team two or three pirates on to each one of the brigands.  Click here for a complete and comprehensive guide to sword fighting.

The spacebar is used to speed up the drop rate of the pieces in this puzzle.  If you are the only one in the fight you should always use it.  When there is a team you will find that you will use it most of the time but when you see that three or more pirates are teamed up on you then you should stop using it altogether.  This is called stalling.

Basically if no one is teamed on you then always use the space bar.  If three or more are on you and you are not the last pirate in our crew then never use the space bar.  If there is one or two teamed on you then you may use it judicially.   Sometimes if you stall when there is two pirates on you they will leave after a couple of rounds and then you can use the space bar again.

Rumble – Battles with Barbarians result in a rumble.  Always team four or five pirates on to each one of the barbarians.  Click here for a complete and comprehensive guide to rumbling.

YYPEDIA – Everything you ever wanted to know can be found in the yypedia or in the forums.  Please read through this area and your gaming experience will be improved.

During a Pillage – Listen to the Officer-In-Charge (OIT) and go to what ever station they ask or to which ever you are strongest in.  Our crew ranking depends on how well and how often you do the puzzles.  No gaming with others, no trading with others and no spamming during a pilly.  Do not bother whoever is bnaving if it is not important.  If you must leave, do not do it during a battle, let the OIT know, and wait for them to acknowledge.

Promotions – Visit the Crew Ranking Page – do not ask during a pilly.

Battles – The amount of booty from a battle has many variables.  One that the average pirate can control is not to get off a ship early.  Here is the list of things that affect and those that do not affect the amount of the booty:

Things that do have an effect:
Rankings of each person aboard in the piracy puzzles (Able >> Ultimate).
Ranking of each person aboard in swordfighting and probably also rumbling, weighted slightly heavier than piracy puzzles.
Bnav ranking of person who has the helm.
Number of people on the ship.
Route.
Might of your opponent.
Win-loss record of the voyage.

How close the last melee was.
Number of crew changes throughout the voyage.
Greenies.
Amount of poe in the booty chest that was won from brigands or barbarians.

Things that have no effect, except to the extent they impact the above:
Duty report (Booched >>> Incredible).
Damage at time of grapple (max-max or whatever).
Contents of your hold.

Basically, the longer you stay on board and the better you do then the booty will increase with everybattle.

Stats Offline – If you want to look at your stats offline cut and paste this into your browser but replace ‘mibshubby’ with your pirates name.

Fame – The crew’s fame is a measurement of how many puzzles we do as a whole.  Weather we are doing a puzzle in a tournament, with the navy, jobbing, or a crew pilly the all add towards our fame.  So go out there and do some more puzzles.  Here is the list of the different crew’s fame:
