My Friends
Joshua Ryan: Josh has been my best friend for some time now. The guy has been going to orchestra with me for aaaaaages, but before now I never reall got to know him all that well. Josh, by trade, can be described as one of two things: A guitarist, or a profesional pessamist. Happily, he's content to be the former for most of the time, but once you get Josh into his 'I hate life' mode, it's damn hard to get him out again. On a more positive note, Josh is one of the most important people in my little world, and I could never do without him. Final Thoughts: Amazing guy. Looks highly amusing in a ladies hat.
Katy Birch: Katy is a really great friend to have if you have either of these problems: 1) You need someone for an objective view on life, 2) You can't remember how to spell something. Either way, a truthful and objective friend like her is invaluble to me, as she is not afraid to criticise, and she's a great person to turn to if you're worried about anything. Final Thoughts: Punctuation and spelling freak, but a beautiful, spiritual person.
Kimberley Barnett: The world according to Kim is a mixture of diabetes and drink, and therefore these two elements make up her whole conversation repetoire. She's a talented flautist, (damn proud of herself for reaching a top D) and a good laugh drunk. I'm always proud to sit near her and listen to her play. Final Thoughts: Diabetes...bad. Drink...good. (True 'Kim' style)
Diana Whiteside: Diana. The surprising drinker of the group. It's quite amazing to think that the girl can comfortably fit that much alcohol into her blood stream without exploding, but, as we soon found out during a night at the pub, it is possible. Diana herself is a talented and soulful clarinetist (yes, it's true! Clarinetists can do that!) and an asset to whatever orchestra she's begged to join. Final thoughts: Drinks a damn site more than me, and plays better. Why is she my friend again?
Laura Bowen: A shameless flirt with my boyfriend (grrr...), Laura is a fellow flautist with a great sense of humour. Very often in orchestra we'll share a giggle about one section or the other, or how much (or little in her estimation) Mr Legg looks like Graham Norton. The only girl I know who can fit me, Ben Josh, herself, three saxophones, two flutes and a few bags into a mini, Laura is optimistic and honest, with an amusing bitchy side to her. That's what I like to see... She was a damn good laugh on the Italy trip too. Final Thoughts: He does look like Graham Norton! He does!
Fraser Powell: Fraser 'love machine' Powell. The king of cheesy chat-up lines and womanising. He's a damn good laugh, sober or drunk, and whenever I talk to him on the net, he's either drunk or stoned (often both). Frase is, generally, a veeeeery sexy young man, with natural good looks and a flair for getting women to swoon over him. Fantasticly talented guitarist, and (so I've been reliably informed) a damn good singer. He's always been there for me when I needed him, and is in my good books if just for liking a composition I sent him. Final thoughts: 'Wackard' guy. Looks daaaaamn good in the rain...
These guys are literally the best friends a girl could have, and I'm very lucky they all chose to like me. I'm proud of each and every one of them, in my own special way, and I'm glad they love me as much as I love them. To say the least, they're a...er...mixed bunch...
Gareth Williams: Gareth is (though he'll happily deny this) one of the most outstanding composers I've ever had the pleasure to meet. His pieces have depth, feeling and an overwhelming sense of beauty and majesty. He was always a damn good laugh in music, and is a wonderful person to talk to. Also, our Gareth is an amazing pianist, and a budding music writer. Final thoughts: A talented composer and performer, and a damn amusing Blues Brother.
Benjamin Wright My boyfriend, perhaps, but this guy has always been my best friend. He's stuck by me through everything, and I love him to bits. He's a very talented saxophonist, and a great person to talk to. This man has the kindest heart in the world, and I'd never get through life without him. He's funny, a talented mathematician, and a wonderful physics student. I love you Ben. Final thoughts: This, undoubtably, is the guy I want to spend the rest of my life with, and a true friend when I need him.
Ruth Wright Yes, she might have been my old teacher, and she might be a tad more sensible than me, but I've always looked at Ruth as more a friend than a teacher. Warm, funny and caring, she's a dedicated mother and a fantastic confidante. I know I always look to her when I need a friend. Final thoughts: Master of the sexual innuendo and taming Beatrice, Ruth is great company whatever the circumstance.
Khea Evans People say your family are the best friends you can have, and my little sister is no diferent from the rest. She's loads of fun to be around if you're in a juvinile mood, and if you're hungry. I pride myself on having the best chef in the world as a sister. She's very cool, and popular, and I love her loads. Final thoughts: Despite refusing to speak to me in public, I love my little sis to bits.
Dave Adams Undoubtably one of the most amusing, and violent guys I have ever met. The only person I know that's set fire to a dice because it dared call him gay. (It's nonchalant answer before yes was 'six'). Dave's not a force to be mixed with fire in general, having happily set fire to a record, Josh's cellar floor, Josh's cellar wall, his curtains, his baseball bat (which he then hit Josh in the stomach with), Rob's feet, Josh's bedroom carpet, Josh's leg, Tom's sock, a waterpistol, a chest of drawers, numerous deoderant cans and Josh's face. A pyro-happy guy... Final thoughts: No Dave! Not the computer!
Ngaire Combes Ngaire. The girl with the totally unneccesary 'g' in her name. Upon claiming it was because it was a name from New Zealand, and being faced with the question "Why doesn't 'New Zealand' have a 'g' too?". she fell quickly silent. Ever the friendly, quiet one, Ngaire is a good laugh when out, and a wonderful driver (*cough* kerb *cough*). In all fairness, we love having her around. Final thoughts: Ngaire is lots of fung to be aroungd. We like her 'g's.
Eleanor Breeze Spikey, fun-loving, and a relatively new addition to my friends page, Ellie has stolen the heart of my best friend. And deserved too man. She's great! Final thoughts: The kind of girl that brings stress toys to the pub. Enough said really...
