MALAYSIA TRADE AND INVESTMENT MISSION TO CHINA (XIAN, CHONGQING AND SHANGHAI), 22-28 SEPTEMBER, 2002

YB Dato Seri Rafidah Aziz, Minister of International Trade and Industry will be leading a Malaysian Trade and Investment Mission to China ( Xian, Chongqing and Shanghai), from 22-28 September, 2002.

2. The objectives of the Mission are :

• To explore and expand trade and investment opportunities for Malaysian products and services in China
• To explore alternative and more competitive sources of imports
• To provide an avenue for the Malaysian business sector and their foreign counterparts to explore opportunities for joint venture projects and other forms of business cooperation.

3. Programme in Xian and Chongqing will include seminar and individual business meetings. However, in        Shanghai, the programme will be only individual business meetings. During the seminar, YB Dato' Seri Rafidah Aziz will be the keynote speaker and there will be several guests to share their experiences in doing business with Malaysia.

4. Taking into consideration the business interest of Malaysian delegation, individual business meetings will be    arranged with exporters, manufacturers, prospective investors and other representatives from the business communities in Xian, Chongqing and Shanghai.
