Characters:
Takato Matsuda
The new leader of the DigiDestined, now called 'Tamers'. He is very calm, but can lose his head at times, and either become VERY angry, or VERY nervous. His family owns a bread store, and he has no siblings that I know of. Takato is a caring individual, and will protect his friends at any costs. Just recently, he has told Jeri that he likes her. More than a friend. If only she would just say something to him...
His Digimon are:
Fresh: ???
In-Training: ???
Rookie: Guilmon, Pyro Blaster
Champion: Growlmon,???
Ultimate: WarGrowlmon,???
Mega: Gallantmon, Lightning Joust OR Megidramon, ???
The last Mega evolution is if Takato forces WarGrowlmon to Digivolve. (Think back to Season One...SkullGreymon...)
Rika Nonaka (Ruki Makino):
Rika is a hotheaded girl, and at times, can be very agressive. At one time, she had thought Digimon were meant only for fighting, and were nothing but data. Over time, however, she cooled down, and learned that Digimon were living creatures. She is not as hot tempered as before, and has made friends with the other Tamers. After her Biomerge with Renamon, she has felt a warm feeling inside of her, the want to help all in need.
Her Digimon are:
Fresh: ???
In-Training: ???
Rookie: Renamon, Diamond Storm
Champion: Kyubimon, Dragon Wheel, Fox Tail Inferno
Ultimate: Taomon, Talismon of Light
Mega: Sakuyamon, Twin Blades of Beauty and of Truth
Henry Wong (Jenrya Lee):
Okay, first of all, let me say this. HIS FIRST NAME WAS NEVER LEE!!! In Japan, his first name was Jenrya. People got mixed up, thinking that 'Lee' was his first name, simply because it sounds like a first name. But, it's not. With that settled, it's time for a description. ^_~ Henry is a calm person, who thinks things through a lot better than Rika, Takato, or the others. In the beginning of the series, he is a hardcore pacifist, and would NOT let his partner, Terriermon, fight. Surprisingly enough, Terriermon is the first to Digivolve to Champion. Henry is usually very calm and quiet, and has a fierce tendancy to stick up for his little sister Suzie. Either way, he is a very loyal friend.
His Digimon are:
Fresh: ???
In-Training: Gummymon?, Bubble Blow
Rookie: Terriermon, Terrier Tornado
Champion: Gargomon, Gargo Pellets
Ultimate: Rapidmon, Tri Beam, Rapid Fire
Mega:MegaGargomon, Huge Missle?
Kazu ??? (Hirokazu ???):
Kazu is probably the most energetic DigiDestined EVER! He's not always the greatest fighter (actually, I'm not sure he's fought more than once yet), but he is always there for his friends. He is very good at the Digimon Card game, but is no match for Rika, the 'Digimon Queen'.
His Digimon are:
Fresh: ???
In-Training: ???
Rookie: ???
Champion: Gardromon, Guardian Barrage
Ultimate: Andromon, ???
Mega:???
Kenta ??? (Hirokenta ???):
Kenta... whines a lot. But aside from that quality (and the fact that he and Kazu's singing makes you want to run for cover), he is a deep thinker, and can sometimes see what the others miss. Kenta's Digimon partner comes late in the series, but he gets MarineAngemon! His words were 'I'm a Tamer to a Mega! I think I'm going to faint!'
His Digimon are:
Fresh: ???
In-Training: ???
Rookie: ???
Champion: ???
Ultimate: ???
Mega:MarineAngemon, Kahuna Waves
Jeri ??? (I dunno if her name changed any...):
Jeri is a kind-hearted girl who really cares for everyone. She is very determined, but at some times is a bit too soft. I think she likes Takato, she makes a point of talking to him a lot. Not noticable like Davis was with Kari, though! She also has this little dog sock puppet thing she carries around with her in the beginning. To be honest with you, it scares me. (If you've never seen the puppet, you probably won't understand. If you've seen the puppet, you still won't understand. I've been told the puppet is 'cute'.) Also, she now appears to be possessed by something, like Oikawa was when MaloMyotismon had him. Eventually, she is freed from the bubble-like prison by Calumon and Beelzemon.
Her Digimon are:
Fresh: ???
In-Training: ???
Rookie: ???
Champion: Leomon, Fist of the Beast King
Ultimate: ???
Mega: ???
Suzie Wong (??? Lee):
Suzie is Henry's little sister. She becomes a Tamer very late into the show, when she is sucked up into DigiWorld by a Digital Field. She was usually found (before entering DigiWorld) playing dress up with Terriermon. She is a cute little girl, probably about 5 or 6.
Her Digimon are:
Fresh: ???
In-Training: Cocomon, Bubble Blow
Rookie: Lopmon, ???
Champion: ???
Ultimate: Antylamon, ???
Mega: ???
Ay and Mako (a.k.a.: those two kids):
These two (a brother and sister) were Impmon's Tamers. They fought a lot, which is why Impmon left. But, when they realized that they lost a friend, they decided not to fight with each other. Eventually, they help Impmon out in the fight against the D-Reaper.
Ryo Akiyama:
Boy, does he have a large story! First of all, there are three Ryo Akiyama's. One made for Season 2, one made for Digimon: The Movie, and one made for Digimon Tamers. Veeerrry confusing. The quickest version of Ryo is the Movie version. He appears as a guy in the country side, tapping away on his computer, while Tai and Matt are off trying to defeat Diaboromon. Some little kid is next to him. The middle-sized version is the Digimon Tamers version. In this, he is the only known person to ever have beaten Rika Nonaka. (I suppose this makes him the Digimon King, if she's the Queen.) His partner in this version is Cyberdramon, an Ultimate. He comes in while Rika, Kazu, and Kenta are being attacked by an evil Digimon, and saves them. He helps them find the rest of the group, and then he leaves with Cyberdramon. He later makes brief 2-second appearances in various places of the Digital World. (What I want to know is this: How does he go from something that looks like the Sahara Desert to something like the North Pole in two episodes? lol). The Season 2 version of him is very long and complicated. But to make a long story short: Ken and Ryo were really good friends in the Digital World. They defeated many evil Digimon together (I think) one including Milleniummon and MoonMilleniummon. If it hadn't been for this fight, the Dark Spores would never have been released. The Dark Spores had originally been intended for Ryo, but Ken pushed him out of the way, getting infested with one of them instead of Ryo.
His Digimon are:
Fresh: ???
In-Training: ???
Rookie: ???
Champion: ???
Ultimate: Cyberdramon, Desolation Claw
Mega: Justimon, Justice Kick
Alice ???:
Alice dresses sort of goth-like, and has is a close friend of Dobermon. These two are not Tamer & Digimon, they're more like... Human and Digimon that just happened to meet. Her father was also one of the people who originally worked on creating Digimon, which I believe is how she and Dobermon met. Dobermon gives the Tamers the power to Biomerge in the Real World.
The Show
It all starts out when Takato finds a mysterious 'Blue Card' in his pile of Digimon Cards. He scans it through the Digimon Scanner, and the little machine turns into a D-Arc! (The dubbers have stupidly decided to call it a 'D-Power') Later, he draws a picture of a Digimon, and names it Guilmon. Eventually, it becomes a real Digimon. Takato later meets up with the hotheaded Rika Nonaka, (saying he saw her in a dream), and the calm Henry Wong. Together with their Digimon partners, Renamon, and Terriermon, they fight Digimon that are randomly selected to come from the Digital World, with one thing in mind: Make lots of noise so they can fight and eventually be deleated. ...Okay, so they really just want to come and see the Real World, and try and upload the data of other Digimon to become stronger.
But, pretty soon, a new evil arrives. The Devas! After finally figuring out how to Digivolve (take out a special card from the huge pile in your pocket, wave it around, and then slide it throught the D-Arc, while saying 'Digi-Modify! Digivolution, activate!'), the Champion level Digimon have to face off against Ultimate leveled guys. The Devas basically want to destroy all of man-kind so that they can 'be free from the evil humans that have enslaved them'. There are 12 Devas in all. One for each of the animals of the Chinese Zodiac.
When a little Digimon that aids in Digivolving, Calumon, gets Diginapped, they decide they have to enter the Digital World while there's still time left from the Digital Field (a beam of bright light that sends someone from the Digital World to the Real World, or from the Real World to the Digital World.) By this time, the kids know how to Digivolve to Ultimate, AND have additions to the team. Going with Takato & Guilmon, Rika & Renamon, and Henry & Terriermon, are Jeri & Leomon, and Kazu and Kenta. Kazu and Kenta basically just want to tag along, and see if they can find their partners, because they know they are destined to have partners.
Now the kids have to face the terrors of the Digital World. And lemme tell you, it's NOT all fun and games. In fact, it's rougher and tougher than Seasons 1 & 2 could ever be. And that's WITHOUT the Tamer villains! There is one good thing, though. You don't have to eat if you don't want to. In fact, Ryo Akiyama went about two weeks without a meal, and he's as lively as ever!
Now that the kids are in the Digital World, they get the old 'Okay, gang, let's do this!' speech. A few episodes later, you can almost hear Freddy (from Scooby-Doo) saying 'Let's split up, gang!', because, lo and behold, the group is constantly getting separated. They eventually get back together, just to realize Suzie, Henry's little sister is a Tamer to the final Deva, Antylamon, and Impmon made a pact with the Deva's soverign, is now a Mega known as Beelzemon, and is out to get them!
The sad thing is, Beelzemon kills Leomon. I pretty much almost cried then, Leomon saying goodbye to Jeri. Now, with the threat of the soverign and Beelezemon greater, Takato forces WarGrowlmon to Digivolve, resulting in Megidramon. Megidramon acts kinda like SkullGreymon, and causes chaos. Takato and Guilmon go through a bonding phase, and finally...
Takato and Guilmon become one, (woah... Digimon's going pretty far on this one... Nude DigiDestined!! [For real, they cover up the stuff with glowing lights, but still...lol]) creating... Gallantmon!
Gallantmon & Beelzemon fight, and Beelzemon walks away, thinking heavily on certain subjects. Soon after, they go up to the sovreign's castle. Henry learns the value of Friendship, and...
More semi-nudeness, and finally... Terriermon and Henry are... MegaGargomon!! The face-off is about to begin...
Yub, the face off has begun... and ended. Instead of the Tamers fighting Zuchoimon (I know I spelled that wrong. :P), Azulongmon comes in, and tells them all about 'The True Enemy'. Then, that floating guy (anybody remember his name?) tells them about the True Enemy being called 'The D-Reaper'. He leaves unexpectedly, the Choas, weird red blobs that destroy anything in their path with ease comes along. Ryo shows up with Cyberdramon *insert fangirl screams here*, and we realize that he likes Rika. ...Okay, it's probably just a crush. ...Or, maybe he's just concerned about her. ...But, in any case, he does worry about her. Finally...
This is probably the coolest Biomerge, considering it has Renamon in it. Renamon's Biomerge is just so beautiful and graceful, and her personality was wonderfully portrayed. Sakuyamon kicks some major butt, and they manage to bring back Calumon, the 'Catalyst'. I looked that word up. It means something that aids in a change without using itself up in the process. But, unfortunatly, the Choas was not stopped, but delayed, and is now back fiercer than ever...
The kids are going to be saved, however! Henry's dad has created something called an 'ark' to transport the children from the Digital World back to the Real World. As the kids hear the good news, Jeri's Evil Puppet of Doom starts talking to her, and it appears to pull her away from the others. Is it really? We're not sure. But when she comes out from behind some rocks, she has a strange look on her face, and she does not say a word. Azulongmon, one of the four Sovergin (consisting of Azulongmon, Zhucoaimon, Ebonwumon, and Baihumon), transports the kids to where the ark will pick them up. Rika and Renamon run off to find Impmon, and luckily, everyone makes it aboard the ark. Including Ryo and Cyberdramon, who DeDigivolves back to his Rookie level.
Everyone makes it home safely, but Jeri is still seemingly possessed. Her father is mad at her for going off into the Digital World, and would not come to pick her up. Takato, Guilmon, and Calumon take the subway home with her, where Takato tells her that he does, in fact, like her a lot more than the 'friend' way. Calumon stays with Jeri as Takato and Guilmon go to Takato's aunt's house where his parents will pick him up. Impmon, feeling that he doesn't belong anywhere, wanders off, still hurt. Everyone thinks that the worst is over. But what they didn't expect was that the chaos had followed them home. And is covering the entire city, growing at an alarming rate...
Wow... nothing really notable happened... Impmon found Ai and Mako, and Warp Digivolved to Beelzemon to help the kids fight against the D-Reaper. (It's still the Chaos, though) He also gained a new attack. Instead of Double Impact, he can use Corona Blaster. Alice came along with Dobermon (Still a rabid rottweiler on steroids, only nice.) was sent from the Soverign to give the kids the power to Biomerge.
It turns out that Jeri wasn't being possessed by the D-Reaper, but by one of it's flunkies. Impmon Digivolves to Beelzemon, and he and Calumon go to find her. Well, they got a surprise, and so did we! It turns out that Jeri, still filled with sadness, is a prisoner inside a bubble! Calumon tries to talk to her, but she doesn't seem to notice him. Meanwhile, Sakuyamon, Gallantmon, MegaGargomon, Guardromon, MarineAngemon, Antylamon, and Justimon (Cyberdramon's Mega) are trying to fight the big blob, with very little success...
Eventually, Beelzemon was able to free Jeri, but was weakened greatly in the process. The Tamers basically played a game of 'Tag' with the D-Reaper. One minute they chased it, the next, they were chased. It all came down to one final battle, good vs. evil. The ending really took me by surprise. I'm not really going to write it here. I think everyone should see it for themselves. Each person will have a different view on it. But it's worth seeing, not reading.
