~ Mia's Point of View (POV) ~
"Wow, so Sage got toasted and kidnapped. They must be planning something devious!"
I was clearly worried. "What are we going to do?"
"I don't know," I hear Ryo say.
"We are going to really have to think about this one."
I nod in agreement. Rowen was definitely right. But I still wondered...'Talpa...what do you want now?...'
~ Meanwhile, somewhere in the Dynasty... ~
Sage groans and opens his eyes.
'Where am I?'
"Ah, so you're finally awake," a voice explains.
This causes Sage to look up. "Sekhmet?"
"Very good," the warlord says as he rolls his eyes. "You remembered my name. Now...Master Talpa wishes to see you."
"........"
~ And back at Mia's place... ~
"I can't take anymore," I tell my friends, clearly in despair. "We have to get him back."
"I agree, but we can't just go in there. Not without a plan." Ryo explains logically.
"Yes, we can!" I hear Kento shout. I'm even more surprised when he grabs my wrist and starts to pull me out the door!
Rowen tries to stop him. "Kento! Ryo's right, we need a plan!"
"No, we don't." Kento argues stubbornly. "Let's just go in and rescue Sage!"
"I'll do everything I can to get him back, " I tell them. "...even if it kills me."
Ryo finally gives in, letting out a defeated sigh. "Fine...we'll do this Kento's way. But we are going to stay together!"
"Right!" agreed Rowen.
"WOO-HOO!" Heh. That was Kento. Always eager to fight. Go figure, huh?
"I wonder what they're doing to Sage right now..."
~ In the Dynasty ~
Sekhmet shoves Sage into Talpa's throne room. "Here he is, Master."
"Excellent." Talpa, a floating, ghostly head with an eerie voice, said. "Welcome, Sage of the Halo."
"What do you want with me?"
Talpa chuckles evilly. "Oh, you'll find out...soon enough."
"I want to know now!"
"You are too impatient!" Talpa shouts harshly, making his eyes glow red. "Maybe a relaxing trip to the dugeon will cool you off. Take him away!"
Sekhmet grabs Sage's hair obediently and drags him back to the dungeon.
~ Mia's House... ~
"I'm...going out for some fresh air. Please excuse me." I set my tea cup down sadly and head outside.
"Mia?" Cye calls out. "Mia??"
I hear him get up as I head out, clearly following me.
Outside, I look up at the sky as a gentle breeze blows. I then hear footsteps as Cye approaches me.
"Mia? Are...are you alright?"
"I guess so..Just...thinking."
"You're worried about Sage, aren't you?"
I look down slightly and nod. He was right; I was thinking about Sage. "I just know something's wrong. I can feel it."
"We'll get him back, Mia. I promise we will."
"I know we will, Cye. But I love him...so very much." A single tear escapes my eyes and rolls down my cheek.
