ON TV

Oh, little town crier, the One Eyed King,
How can you be so full and always blank?
In a world of visions so blurred burning,
From the well of human knowledge you drank.
Unsightly attentions channel turning,
Ever looking for the greener grass to thank.
With rage and endless electrons teaming,
Oh, you cannot hear my tortured screaming.

Why is it you cannot hear me screaming?
Oh, I see you have not one ear to bend.
In to every home your views are beaming,
Your message into all those heads you send.
With a click, my soul you are redeeming,
With another, my soul you are to end.
Never truly my friend or my foeman,
But, ghostly oracle of some omen.

Not truly on one side or the other,
But, fear and conflict and the love for hate.
Infant truth in crib your eye doth smother,
While with your flashing eye you will sedate.
You whip the fears of the weeping mother,
And cause society to suffocate.
Not content to just buy up all their will,
You have to sell off fancies sweetest thrill.

As they worship under your one eyed glow,
You become master of the world, its true.
Everywhere your presence will only grow
Every eve they hurry home to worship you.
Through your umbilical your powers flow,
None can eschew your massive revenue.
In every home you are bright and blazing,
With unseen tools its the mind youre glazing.

Lying at your foot, corpses gathered round,
They came in answer to your seductive plea.
Your billions of soldiers will stand their ground,
But youll never show the mortality.
Buried in your pitch, only sorrows found,
Replacement of real life youll never be.
From under your grace we can never fall,
Youll always welcome us back, one and all.
