I have spent my entire working career
in the electronics industry,
including an enjoyable, yet tumultuous,
10 years at Apple Computer.
There, I was a member of the teams that
developed the Mac II and PowerBook
series of PC's. Later, I became fascinated
with disk drives and now spend my
time integrating new, hi-performance
drive designs into storage systems for
Network Appliance. Its fun and challenging
work and I get to work with some
really bright people.
My wife Donna and I happily celebrated
our 14th anniversary recently,
and we live with 4 great kids. We are
very busy and involved with all of their
activities, in and out of school.
My step-daughter, Jenny, is 17 and a
senior at Prospect High, here in San Jose.
She is involved with Drama, and is on
the swim team. Jenny is also very
involved in the Venturing program in
Scouting and has been on the aquatics
staff of our summer camp for the last
two years. She plans to become a teacher.
Will is in 8th grade and a Star Rank
Boy Scout, loves baseball, backpacking
and shooting skeet with the old man.
He is pretty good at all of them, too.
David, the youngest, is in 6th grade
and has the most energy. He his active in
scouting (Tenderfoot), loves soccer
and baseball, and is just now getting
started shooting with Will and Dad.
In addition, my nephew Matt lives with
us. Matt is a good student and enjoys
soccer and baseball and his gameboy.
I have been a baseball coach for the
Moreland Little League for the last 6 years
and have managed for the last 4. I am
also a Scoutmaster for Troop 14 here in
Santa Clara. A recent highlight was
when Willy and I completed a 7 day, 57 mile
backpacking trip in Yosemite this past
summer. It was a long trail, but we had
a blast. Lots of stars, fish and great
memories.
In my free time, I enjoy backpacking
with the Scouts, and competitive skeet shooting.
Donna is kept busy herding the clan.
We were fortunate enough to be able to allow
for her to retire from Apple a couple
of years ago and now she is a full-time Mom.
My mother still lives on the farm in
Marysville where we grew up and I get back to
visit from time to time. Not often enough;
according to her.
