I was a 1968 graduate of
Marysville High School,
and certainly one of the class nerds,
active in Band and Drama as well in
academics.
After graduation, I majored in music
at UC Santa Cruz
and earned a doctorate in music at Stanford
University;
I became a professional clarinetist
and teacher,
at various times a member of the faculty
at
Stanford, UC, and Occidental College,
as well as teaching privately and performing.
I live in Venice, California
(a beach suburb of Los Angeles)
with my husband Jeff Greif,
whom I married in 1980.
(I kept my own surname.)
We have one daughter who is an
aspiring opera singer.
