Hi!
I am Frank Chase from the class of 1978. I am sure that you who went to MHS
at that time have youre memories of me as I have of you... As time passes we
do tend to remember the pleasant ones and forget those less pleasant- or with
the passage of time understand why. I attended the 20th reunion and that was
the first time I had had occasion to return to see and share memories. I had
a lot of things to think about and do an evaluation of my life to that point.
I kind of amazed myself of the things that I can pull out of thin air to
worry myself with! 'What if everyone else has become financially independant
and shows up in tuxedos and Limos? What if everyone else has attained the
nirvana of coolness and I'm still my nerdy self... and somehow I manage to
show up with tape on my glasses??' In retrospect it was kind of silly- I had
a great time and met one or two people there I had gone to school with for
four years and had never met due to having classes across campus and at
different times. I met a couple of my friends who I had gone to school with
since the first grade- but had not seen since! And wonder of wonders: we all
seemed to remember how cool we all were back then- and still are! [Yeah-uh] I
had such a great time I dont really want to wait for the 25th reunion to
touch bases with old friends from school.
As for what has passed during my last 22 years since graduating from MHS
[a lot of it wuld make for a great soap opera or a bad horror film] you will
have to contact me directly. I will just say this: the last two years have
been really great though. The 8 years in the navy and 2 really dysfunctional
marriages that left me scared and scarred are becoming a distant memory and I
am much happier now than at anytime since high school. I am the single parent
of my 13 year old daughter who like all kids can be the sweetest thing one
minute- and a spoiled brat the next, like every other kid... [grin] If you
want to touch bases with me to share memories, or just to say 'hi' just email
me at [email protected].
In closing I send you my warmest wishes for your continued good health
and success. Please remember that even though we have come a long way since
graduation and have grown apart an many ways, it is still good to come
together occasionally to dust off those old memories and just think: our most
precious memories may still lie ahead mingled with the past we have all
shared together.
Cordially Yours,
Frank

P.S. I recently became reacquainted with Lisa Blaylock from the class of
1979. We were each others first boy/girl friends. We both discovered that
even as we had grown apart in school, we had changed and went through similar
experiences even though we had no knowlege or communication with each
other... In the 22 years we grew back together, so that when we became
reaquainted this summer (2000) we were ready for each other permanantly!
Things have been moving far more quickly than either one has expected, and
even though we are still planning on August 2001 for our wedding, we have
decided to combine families sooner. We plan to spend thanksgiving togather as
a family for the first time and for that we are very thankful! This all came
as a complete surprise to us because we both have always read those stories
in Readers Digest where long lost loves were reunited after years of
separation... ("naaaah, never happen to me-the lucky bums!") But it really
happened! We are both ajusting to the happy chances this has wrought: I for
one, feel like my life has been taken from the set of a grade 'B' horror
flick, and magically transported to Fantasy Island where all my dreams become
real! (I'm still looking for the short guy to run in and start yelling "de
plaaanes, boss, dee plaaaanes!")
May all your fondest dreams become your reality- It really does happen
sometimes!
