The Allegrettos is our school's top select singing ensemble. It is a by audition group, that travels throughout the community and neighboring towns to perform and share their love of music with others. Ms. Lynn Scarchuck has been directing the vocal group for the past 12 years.

The group goes beyond the 50 minute class they we have daily at Maloney to rehearse after school and at other times to perfect our singing talents and grow as musicians.

Over the years the group has varied in size but is usually between 18 and 22 members. It is a four part vocal ensemble consisting of Soprano, Alto, Tenor, & Bass singing parts.

Our Repitoire

Over the past four years, the Maloney School Vocal Department has gone on two music competition trips. They've Traveled to Myrtle Beach and Williamsburg, Virginia to compete in the Fiesta-Val Music Competition. On both trips, Allegrettos has won first place nationally with superior ratings. Our first place trophies are on display in the school's choir room.

Allegrettos are available to sing for any occasion. Some past events and places we have sung at include:

*Kiwanis Lunches and Dinners
*Various Nursing Home
*Meriden Night of Celebration
*Board of Education
*Holiday and Company parties
*Fashion Shows
*Weddings, Funerals, etc.

If you have an event coming up we are just the group to bring you entertainment. We perform for free but donations are always welcomed. Below is information if you are interested in donating or booking us to come and entertain for you.

This coming May, the Allegrettos will be attending yet another music competition. We are extremely excited to announce our trip to New York City in the spring.

While the group is in New York, we will be attending a broadway show, visiting the metropolitian museum of art as well as going on tours of teh world's most prestigious stages such as Radio City Music Hall adn Lincoln Center.

In order to make this trip such a success, we will be compaigning throughout the year to raise the funds needed to go on such an exciting competition. Any donations or sponsorships to help send us to NYC would be greatly apprecitated.
