The Needy
Matthew 6:1-4
Question:
When there is a begger on the street panhandling, do you give to him or her?

To be honest I don't. I know that is bad. Maybe it is because I don't know if they will use it for the right reason. I know we aren't the judge. I know that a lot of people have helped me when I lost my job, or even in the summer time, when I am not getting paid. I know I should give. I do give at Christmas time to different charities. I feel good about that. I will consider this the next time I run across this. I will pray and ask the Lord what I should do.

Prayer
Matthew 6:5-17
Question:
Do you feel that the prayer in this passage should be memorized and prayed often?

I do feel that it needs to be memorized, but I don't feel we should say it often. When we pray, I think that we need to pray to the Lord from our hearts, not from a written prayer.

Fasting
Matthew 6:16-18
Question:
What do you believe fasting is for? Have you ever fasted?

Fasting is for us to get closer to the Lord. As far as fasting for myself, I have fasted. I couldn't fast completely, because I have medicine I have to take and it requires food. I did give up something for fasting, and in the Lord's eyes, I think that he still considers that as fasting. I have a friend that fasts. I envy him sometimes, I know I shouldn't. Even though I believe in fasting, I don't believe that you should annouce it to everyone that comes a long. I think it is something that is between you and the Lord.
