| The man to the left is another of the wonderful friends who have been a part of my life throughout high school and beyond. This is Tony Kiehl, and I am proud to say that he and I have carried on a friendship longer than any I have ever had before. We met my freshmen year (his sophomore) in science class and our friendship carried over to band class. It was here that we really got to know each other. I played the saxophone, and he was in percusion. Neither of us was very good, or really liked band class for that matter, so I spent most of my time in the back of the room with the rest of the percussion talking and goofing off with Tony. Sadly enough, it was not this that brought us together.... it was his car. No this is not REALLY what our friendship is based on, but this is where it really started. One day he and I left band class to go for a ride in his new car. It's strange that scaring the living hell out of me would make me want to be friends with someone.... he gave me the ride of my life, but somehow we grew from there. Lunch time rides turned into rides home, and rides home turned into rides to his house to play basketball, or rides to my house to chill. Slowly yet surely, he grew into one of the most important people in my life, and I'm proud to put him on my list of best friends... in fact, I keep him right up near the top. |
