Greetings to all visitors!
My name is Salome D. Belir...my family and friends call me "Mheng." I was born and grew up in Tondo Manila, one of the historical places in the Philippines. This is also the place where my parents, Edmundo Belir and Pacencia Daguplo, met before they got married.
I was considered very friendly and loving by most of my friends and schoolmates. I took my grade school in Amado V. Hernandez Elementary School, where I graduated as First Honorable Mention in 1987. I took my secondary education at Dr. Juan G.Nolasco High School batch '91 and graduated as Salutatorian. I finished my Bachelors Degree in Mass Communications at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila in 1995.
Most of the exciting moments in my earlier years were spent during my days in high school and college. I enjoyed lots of nice memories and good experiences which molded my personality to what I am right now.
After graduating in 1995, I was called to report at Philippine Wireless Inc.(PocketBell) that time the leading company in the paging industry, to work as a Telecommunicator. After a year, I decided to search for more exciting employment in ABS-CBN Production Network. I was employed as a Production Assistant for a weekly teen show GIMIK. My stay in ABS-CBN was only for a short period of time, but it was very memorable because I had the chance to rub elbows with actors and actresses. Then, on that same year, I decided to go back to the telecommunications industry.
I worked at Island Country Telecommunications, Inc.(JASPage) as a Team Leader. I stayed in the company for 4 years.
A better opportunity came to me in the year 2000, where I passed an interview to work in Taiwan. I worked as Machine Operator at Gigabyte Technology Co.,Ltd. Our company was Taiwan's leading manufacturer of computer motherboards. This was the first time to be away from my family and friends, that was why I was really sad and lonely during my first few months. Eventually, with the help of my Filipina friends in the company,
I was able to adjust...and learned to enjoy my life in Taiwan with my new Filipina and Taiwanese friends. I went back to the Philippines in January 2002 after finishing my contract.
Another chance to travel and work abroad came to me 8 months after. This time, in Doha,Qatar at Mace Connect WLLC. The company was the first and only international call center in Qatar. I started working as a Customer Service Representative and was designated as Team Leader after 6 months. Living in the Middle East was not easy as anyone could imagine. However, it made me more stronger and independent. I had a lot of happy memories in Qatar with my Filipino and Indian friends. Unfortunately, my chance in Qatar was only for 8 months. I decided to file my resignation and flew back to Manila on May 26, 2003. And after a month, Mace Connect shut down it's operations. All the employees were sent back to the Philippines and India.
Currently, I'm in Dubai UAE, and I've been here for the past two years... I'm looking forward to a successful career here.
Enjoy life while you're young. Maximize time with what life has to offer and what happiness can give you. Create new friendships that could lead to wonderful relationships. Be friendly and unique. Don't forget to pray, for prayers are so powerful. Be thankful for what He has given you everyday. Thank Him for giving you LIFE.
