Scramble Rules

Each team will consist of four players. Single players are welcome, and will be assigned to teams as applicable.

The game will be played in "best ball" or scramble format. Each player hits a drive off the tee. The group then selects the best drive and all other players in the group get their ball and take it to the location of the best drive. Each group member then hits a shot from the location of the selected drive. The best second shot is selected, and the other group members get their ball and take it to the location of the selected second shot. All group members then hit a third shot from the location of the selected second shot. This continues until the ball is putted out. Remember to mark your putts...if everyone in the group misses a putt you must select the best one in order to continue.

Each player in the group must count at least 3 drives (tee shots).

No player in the group may count more then 5 drives (tee shots).

Ladies and men will tee off from their designated tees.
Should numbers require us to send out groups of three players, special driving rules will be waived. (ie., there is no maximum for the number of drives by a player in a group of three).

On their score card, the team must mark one score only. In addition, mark which team member drove on each hole.

A two shot penalty will be given to teams handing in cards showing players who counted less than 3 drives or more than 5. (Groups of three excepted.)

Aside from the scramble rules, we will observe the normal rules of golf with the following exceptions:
  • "Whiffs" will not count
  • Preferred lies at all times (including the rough)
