| MHEG CONFERENCES |
| MHEG Conferences are held in the relaxed atmosphere of Yoder's Kitchen Banquet Facility in Arthur, Illinois. Located near major interstate highways and approximately equal distance from Chicago, Illinois, St. Louis, Missouri and Indianapolis, Indiana, Arthur offers visitors small town hospitality in the unique setting of Illinois Amish Country. Overnight accommodations are available at a number of nearby locations. Scroll down for a listing. Since its inception, MHEG has hosted an annual conference focusing on the Civil War. This one-day event, held on the second Saturday in June, is a combination of interesting and educational speeches by recognized historians and great food including fresh baked cinnamon rolls to start the day and an Amish style buffet at noon. Books written by each speaker are available for purchase and adequate time is allotted for book signing. Pre-registration is required, so watch our site for details on this years conference or if you prefer, send us an e-mail with your name and address and we will be happy to add you to our mailing list for events in 2001. Our future plans include expanding into other areas of military history with programs similar to our June Conference. As we mentioned on our home page, your input regarding topics you would like to see in the future is always appreciated. |
