here are my notes on the hike up to lindomen lake, and the hike around to the other side of lindomen lakes.

down near the end of chilliwack lake road, past the chilliwack lake entrance a few kms, youll see a wide turnout to the right. there will probably be cars parked there. get out, and go to the left, down. you'll be walking through old campsites used by scouts canada in the mid 90's. they were shut down to party goers and their 'EXTENSIVE' vandalism and trash.

you'll cross a bridge over the creek and see some signage. we wanted lindomen lake. it said 1.7 km, with greendrop being 5.5.

the trail starts out pretty easy with a few small bridges to cross, but soon you will start to hike steeply. your rewarded for your efforts by a rushing creek on your left. you'll hear it before you see it. the power of that water is just incredible.

at some point you'll cross over the creek on a wicked looking wooden bridge and then head back into the shady forest. up up up you go. at one point the upness really widens out and you can go any which way you want. just go up!

if i remember right at the top you'll see a gigantic rock that makes you wonder why it decided to stop right there. and where the hell did it come from. you'll find out later.

keep going up some more, eventually you'll see a giant giant rock pile at the side of the mountain that goes up quite high, at this point you'll see water too. the trail continues to the left. we personally went right, towards the rocks because it looked funner. i realized the big chunk we saw earlier probably originated from here, way up near the peaks. we scrambled across some pretty big rocks. it wasnt too hard just be careful. you'll start to see the edges of the lake, and a logjam seperating where you are, and the lake. to your right you can scramble up the huge rocks for a good view of the lake.

we learned the wet way that you cannot cross the logjam at the end closest to the lake. you can however cross the logjam towards the end closer to where you came from originally. this puts your right back onto the trail.

the lake is a magnificent turqouise color. pictures dont half do it justice, words cannot either. we continued along the trail around lindomen lake, eventually getting to another rock pile that goes way up. straight across the lake you can see the towering gargoyles. we didnt see a trail right away so we went way the hell up the rock pile before realizing everybody else was not following us, they were going down where the lake was, right by the shores. the view was fantastic from up there, the best on the whole trail- unless of course you go up to greendrop lake. we stopped about half way up the rock pile, there was a nice little slab for the 3 of us to chill out on. we'll go to greendrop another weekend.

after a smoke/food break, we went down down down and saw where the trail was to our left. you'll come to the other side of the lake, and see a cool boardwalk built along the rocks. heres a great place to sit down and relax. continue along the boardwalk and you go down a steep ladder. eventually the trail split into two --- left was onto greendrop, right was into what it seemed was marshland. right we went, you'll cross a 25 foot fallen tree over the edge of the lake. we all had good balance and made it, it leads to an excellent camping site. if lindomen has fish ( i didnt see any, but i did see 2 or 3 fisherman on the trail ) this would be a great place to camp and fish.

we turned around and went back home. your down in no time at all.
