1. Yes!  Christopher Marlowe, another important Elizabethan dramatist was also born in 1564. Marlowe lived until 1593. Shakespeare died in 1616.1558 was the year Queen Elizabeth assumed the throne. She reigned until her death in 1603.1592 was the year Shakespeare was called an "upstart crow" by a fellow dramatist, Robert Greene, proving that he had become important in the London theater world by that time.

He worked and lived in London for most of his professional life, but he was not born there.Oxford is located on the shorter of the two main routes from Stratford to London. The banns were asked only once for Shakespeare and Anne Hathaway because she was pregnant at the time the bond was issued.Judith and Hamnet Sadler seem to have been lifelong friends to Shakespeare and were his neighbors in Stratford. Hamnet Sadler was remembered by Shakespeare in his will.
