Me & Annie
Me (a.k.a. Maddie):
"MEEOW!!!" I quickly spun around on my heels and turned to face what was another glass room. But it was what was inside the room that took my breath away. I saw a furball the colors of an apple and orange creamsicle. It was a tabby cat! At that moment, I knew I had to go in. There was something special about this tabby. She looked friendly, but that wasn't all. Her eyes were the color of emerald sea foam, sparkling and shiny bright. Her fur looked exceptionally lush and luxurious. And to top it all off, she had a glamaorous, bright pink collar. At the moment I laid my eyes on her, I was in love. I mean, who wouldn't be? She cocked her head towards me as if to say, "What are you waiting for?" . Before I knew it, I swivered myself into the room through a tiny peak in the door. Annie was perched with great elegance on her soft scrathcing post, like a queen sitting upon her royal throne. Her head was held up high, and paws delicately tucked in. I strode across the large room. Annie stared me down the whole time, green eyes blazing right through me. I extended my hand. She catiously leaned towards it, and then pulled away. I slowly and carefully placed my hand on her furry back. Annie's body swooped towards the floor and came back up in a menacing arch.
"Swish, swish," , went her tail.
"Blink, blink," , went her eyes.
"Scritch, scratch,?" , went her paws. What was wrong? Had I done something to make her upset? I tried again , this time, as if someone had slowed down my movement with a computer. Annie stayed still. As I stroked her behind the ears. "Good girl, Annie," I said, as if she were a dog. I spent about 10 minutes with Annie the tabby. Suddenly, I could hear my mom calling me. "MADDIE!" she cried. "Coming!" I responded. "Good-bye, Annie." I whispered, Then, I left the room. Maybe next time I visit the animal shelter, hopefully, I'll see Annie again!

Annie:
I'm a bronze and white animal, sweet, lovable, adorable. I "talk" a lot, purr when happy, and hiss when disrupted. Our food slaves use us to chase away mice and rats. ?Ick. Can you guess who I am? Peek-a-boo! I'm Annie, a tabby cat, the most perfect cat in the I was just about to start on my silky, snowy white tail when two giants came out of nowhere and stood in front of MY palace! "
Oh no," I thought to myself. "Out of every availible cat in the world, they just HAD to choose me! " Luckily, a deadly laser wall (glass) seperated me from them.  "FELLOW FRIENDS!" I persuadedly screeched. "Run for your lives!" But did they listen to me? No. They stared at me as if I was a crazed lunatic. I arched my back in annoyance. Persians. They'll never learn. I ducked behind my humungo scratching post, my only chance of escape. But those beasts had eyes in the back of their heads! The door squeaked open. I was rigid with fear. The smallest of the two giants was a girl. She slowly approached me, not appearing to be scared. Well, I mean, she looked friendly enough, so I gave in. I gently brushed my white and auburn speckled coat against her leg. Big mistake. Her hand went down to the floor reaching for my coat. I froze. I didn't know what it would be like to be petted by a giant. Would she pet me carefully or quickly? Lovingly or harshly? Well, whatever it was, i didn't want to find out. So the second that hand went down, BAM! I slipped down to the floor and was out of her sight in a second. I sullenly circled her with my tail flickering from side to side, in a not-mean-but-not-exactly-welcoming way. After I had gotten over my fear a bit, the girl tried to pet me again, but this time, with a little more caution. I just gave in this time, too tired for any more action. Her tanned palm settled in my fur. It was quite surprising! Her hand did not feel cold or warm. I could tell the stroke was meant to be given with love. After that, she started saying all this nonsense in a foreign language that I couldn't understand. Then she left.
Well, no matter if she was a friendly giant or brutal one, no more humans for me!!!

Wolves
Crackle, pop goes the fire
The sound of footsteps running away in fear
As this one fire walks through the forest

HOWLL!!!
The cry of an animal
Pierces the thin air

That one cry
Called for heads to turn
At the top of the foggy hill

It is the cry
The cry of an animal in despair
The cry of an animal who is dying inside

That animal lays next
To burned bodies
Of close members in the pack

Those bodies are still and unmoving
Hearts that have stopped beating
Fur that is singed and smoky

I watched as the animal disappeared in flames
And that last cry replayed itself
Over and over in my mind

I looked at the ground
And closed my eyes
As that first wet tear dropped to the ground

See what we careless humans have done
Taken the lives
Of innocent animals

We must take action
And do something
To prevent this unworthy murder

Of wolves.
