Emotion: A state of intense pleasure (joy, fun, happiness) or displeasure (anger, sorrow) or a state of both coexisting in a complex interrelationship that arises when our expectations are met or surpassed or our expectations are violate or undermet. Such a state as such manifests itself whenever we interact with the other: individuals other than ourselves and the very interaction between thoughts within our mind, the latter, if enduring so as to become one’s extended mood, would be than characterised as a period of extended depression or period of extended exuberance or both in alternating cycles.
Localized thinking and Systemic thinking
Localized thinking occurs when our neural connections fire and we have thoughts occuring to us, different frequencies for different thoughts, which then come into conflict with thoughts from our environment (the TV for example), and our mind attempts a brief and shortlived dialogue and prioritizing or resolving the conflict within the mind.
Systemic thinking is when we atively and deeply engage ourselves in a such a dialogue and see how two contending thoughts fit in our scheme of other thoughts we may have, epescially normative thoughts.
Thinking – a weighing of two or more alternatives involving reflection, scrutinization, ordering of impulses, categorization of emotions, in order to better understand the relationships and workings of our environment so as to achieve a certain set of objectives that are strongly in our consciousness due to our needs, other impulses and other emotions, as well. Or perhaps other feelings would be a more precise word. As a feeling is backed by an impulse and is a sustained state of mind that involves reflection after our expectations undergo somearrangement and we then communicate how we feel about them. When people argue it is their expectations that are in argument with each other and the expectations are shaped by their beliefs, their personalities, their expertise, their natures. Where somepeople call other peoples activitiy of thinking reason is when people believe that persons thinking is capable of sustaining or achieving outcomes that are key to the groups survival or progress as a people, which they feel strongly about. Reason simply entailes one deep-seated feeling contending with another deep-seated feeling, and the feeling that most enables one to continue existing and exercise prudence when appropriate and fight when appropriate will usually win out. A majority of people value their lives and/or value their values concerning opposing despotism. Everyone feels and it is weaved into our thinking and then filtered by reason, which is still weaved by feelings, but it simply prioritises them to best meet external objectives or deeply felt internal objectives that happen to have a consensus at that point in history.
Short-term pleasures à short-term emotions (STEM)
Long-term pleasures à long-term emotions (LTEM)
LTEM ß à STEM à CONFLICT à THINKING to quell the Uncertainty, especially if such a conflict threatens an existing social order or contradicts or supports a deeply internalized value.
Long Term Pleasures à respect, status, achievement, honor, to see oneself in a meaningful light: to stand for onething to believe that what one believes in matters to one. Man and Woman want an answer as to why they suffer? As Nietzsche says, they will agree to undergo suffering if they feel it is important—for whom and for what?
Though emotions may not necessarily be causes of our actions they may simply be biproducts of whatever processes that enables us to act on the world around us. I don’t think what I have written is precise.
