Everyone
has heard the saying:
"
He loved us so much that He
stretched
out His arms and
died."
I
often wonder just how much I love the Lord?
Would
I have the courage to raise my head
in
time of persecution, and declare my love
for
my God, and be willing to die?
Would
I remember that I CAN do that
IF
I
stretch out my arms, ask the Father for
HELP
just
as Jesus did?
I
guess it all comes down to our Faith in what
God's
will is for us.
There
have been miracles in my life that I know
would
not have happened if I had not turned
impossible
situations over to the Lord.
One
example:
We
became pregnant at a time when I was
not
in the best of health and my father
was
very ill.
We
did not want an addition to our family, but
God
had other plans.
When
our youngest son was born 3 months
premature
and weighed in at 2lbs 3 ozs.
20
years ago, ( when they had lots of life
saving
options but not as many as today ),
we
baptized him at birth. Since it was such
a
late (early 2:39 am) hour we didn't call the
priest
until the next morning.
After
the priest came and prayed over and
blessed
our son, I KNOW I saw an improvement.
Some
people told me it was just my imagination . . .
and
we had two terrible years of hospitalization
with
Joseph Jacob, but today, this child of
God's
is now 20 , is 6' 4" tall and weighs in at
about
240 lbs.
He
is a firefighter and an EMT and works off
days
as a skills instructor in a Jewish children's
day
care center.
His
greatest desire is to finish school and become
a
kindergarten teacher.
Yes,
I was offered an abortion, and my
doctor
recommended it because of my
age
and health . . .
BUT
for
us, that was never an option.
The
pregnancy was a nightmare. I was so
sick
and in bed so much because of bleeding
and
the pain was constant.
But
where would the world be today if we
had
not let our son live?
God
has a special plan for this child of His.
He
blessed him and is continually watching
over
him.
My
son is an example of God's power and
love
and that His plans are so much better
than
mine.
Let
us all pray daily for the courage to do what
we
know is right.
We
CAN
DO ANYTHING
if
we but
TRUST
the
LORD!
I
hope I am never put to the test of loving
my
Lord more than my life;
however,
if
it ever comes to that . . .
God
please give me the courage and the
grace
to
LOVE
YOU
unto
death.
