Simon Bonney's RX4 coupe
This is Simon Bonney's RX4 coupe. He has owned it for 3 years now, and it has gone through many driveline configurations but has now settled for the 13B turbo setup shown here
The turbo is a Garret TO3 which sucks the air/fuel through a 45mm DCOE Weber and custom "Geelong Style" manifolding. The engine is a 13B extend port which breathes through custom turbo pipes and a 3" mandrel bent exhaust system. The wastegate is currently set at 10psi which is sufficient until a better clutch and gearbox are sourced 8-(! The clutch is heavy duty (not quite heavy enough!!)on a lightened flywheel. Spark is provided by a series 1 electronic dizzy with eagle leads. Gearbox is a RX5 5 speed after snapping an output shaft on a RX7 5 speed drag racing against Michael Goldberg's RX3 (still won though!!!). Diff is a standard 3.9 but looking for a 4.1, and standard brakes. Suspension consists of Tokico struts and shocks, lowered all round. Wheels are Dragway's with Dunlop A4's 225/60's on the rear and 205/60's on the front. Interior features are 1/2 roll cage, harnesses, celica seats and quality cd sound system. VDO boost, temp and oil pressure gauges help keep tabs on things under the bonnet.
Just ran a 13.06 at 106.66mph on street tyres!
