Research Profile
PhD (EurPhD) Geology. BSc Geology and Gemmology.
My research experience is related to the field and laboratory analyses of stone based heritage including pure research and consultancy to private enterprises and public bodies.
My research interests are the decay and conservation of heritage and building stones; evaluation of protective treatments; decay processes, such as insolation weathering, fire decay in building materials; sources of salts and its behaviour under different heating regimes, historic quarries and intangible aspects of heritage, such as the societies' perception of the damage generated in monuments during conflicts.
Currently I am working in Queen's University Belfast within The Limestone Project , seeking the causes of the catastrophic decay of building limestone
