In 1912, Horty, a foundry worker married to Zoë, wins a round-trip ticket to England to attend the Titanic's departure. Once there, he meets a mysterious chambermaid named Marie. On his return, a rumor spreads regarding his wife's infidelity. Then Horty hears about the Titanic's sinking, particularly unfortunate news since Marie was aboard the ship. In desperation, he finds peace by telling everybody an increasingly passionate story of his night with the chambermaid... But what really happened that night still remains a mystery....
