Locating Your Keyless Entry Code
If your Explorer is equipped with the keyless entry system and you purchased it used, it is possible that you do not know the factory-set code for it. One place that it is located is on a card included with the Owner's Manual. This card is not always in the vehicle when it is purchased used, though. The other way to find the factory-set code is to locate the keyless entry module. It is located behind the left rear cargo area panel. After you remove the panel, you will see a white box with wires going into it (as pictured below). This is the keyless entry module. You may also notice the edge of a label on the module in this picture (it is facing toward the interior panel). This label has the factory-set code printed on it. You may need a small mirror to see in there, but otherwise, it's as simple as that.
