| Stunmeister's Scouting- Torrey is an exceptional talent. He has speed, quickness, and grace. He also has that New York attitude on the ice, where it is his way or the highway, and that is an asset. He had an outstanding rookie year in 1999-2000, being the Ducks rookie of the year. However, this past season was marred in disappointment. A sophomore slump slowed him, along with an injury. Then, he and the coach had some disagreements and Torrey spent alot of time either in the ECHL or on the bench, or in the stands. He did not get the same amount of high quality ice time he earned last year. Torrey, however, remained his usual great self with fans. He talked with them even when he was feeling awful from not playing, and proved his kindness many times. Hopefully, with some cooling off, and with some working out, Torrey can elevate his game and take over one of the stalwart places vacated by the likes of Yuri Butsayev or Marc Chouinard. He has the talent, the ability, and the desire, now all he needs is the opportunity. |
