| Is it true na disbanded na ang grupong MG4B Powerboys? Kinabibilangan ang nasabing grupo nina Jestin Sosa, Xtian Redoblado, Carlo Lantin, Danyel Gumba at Josef Viray. Ang grupo ay nagdesisyon na huwag munang ituloy ang mga commitments nila around the country like Baguio, Boracay, Sulu at Zamboanga dahil sa panganib na dala ng severe acute respiratory syndrome o SARS. | Idineklara ng ating pinaka-mamahal na Father Rector na ang Colegio de San Juan de Letran ang kauna-unahang institusyon sa buong Asya ang SARS Free. Ito ay kanyang ipinahayag dahil iniutos niya sa administrasyon na linisin ang buong paligid ng Colegio, mula sa kasuluk-sulukan ng ating mga canteen, CR's, classrooms at clinics hanggang sa bagong tayong Student Center, gym at parking lot. Nag-spray sila ng special alcohol sa bawat sulok para maiwasan ang pagdapo ng anumang virus na posibleng pagmulan ng SARS. Ang special alcohol ay imported pa galing Mainland China at nagkakahalagang 1,500.00 pesos per litro. Inabot ng 30,000 litro ang inispray sa buong Letran na pumatak sa 45 milyong piso na bayarin, kaya't ang Colegio ay nagpasyang itaas ang matrikula nang kalahati. Ang tanging hamon ng Rector sa mga estudyante at mga magulang ay: "Would you ever sacrifice the price of tuition that you pay to the health and safety of your children? Other schools cannot compensate the protection that we are rendering to our student!" Iyan ang mga katagang kanyang nabanggit upang bigyang depensa ang mahal na singil ng matrikula. |
