| Should Christians Praise Dance Looking Like Mimes? |
| Satan's desire in this last hour is to pervert true praise dancing that brings glory and honor to God. One of the ways he contaminates the church today is through our worship and praise. Satan has blinded especially most Black churches, which practice praise dancing. God told Jeremiah His prophet to tell Israel to "Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain" For years we in the church have allowed satan to bring in customs and practices of the ungodly world into the house of God. "We have adopted the ways of the world in how we praise God in our worship services". All across America most black churches today have now accepted and some are coming to the knowledge of praise dancing as another form of how we can worship God in dance. We are now coming to the full understanding of the many expressive levels of the way the Hebrew nation worship God for example: 1. Yadah - To worship with extended hands. (Ps. 138:7; Ps. 52:9; Ps. 118:21) 2. Towdah - A sacrificial praise with hands cupped giving God adoration (Ps. 50:23; Ps. 42:4) 3. Zamar - To praise God with the stringed instruments (Ps. 150:4;Ps. 57:7) 4. Tehillah - The praise that comes from your spirit (Ps. 138:1;Ps. 66:2; Ps. 100:4) 5. Shabach - To give a shout of praise (Ps.150:6; Ps. 117:1; Ps. 147:12; Ps. 145:4) 6. Barak - To praise God in the kneeling position (Ps. 95:6; Ps.72:15) But satan has perverted the seventh fold expressive level of worship and it's the Hala. 7. Halal - To dance before the Lord (Ps. 30:11; II Samuel 6:14) There are many references to show that dance was part of Israel's culture. It still is today! Jephtah's daughter - Judges 11v34 Ladies dancing in the vineyard - Judges 21v21-23 Children playing games - Matthew 11v17 The return of the prodigal son - Luke 15v25 Celebrating victory - 1 Samuel 18v6-7 Miriam led dancing, singing and praise - Exodus 15v20-21 David danced before the Ark of the Lord - 2 Samuel 6v14-23 Where satan is perverting the church and weakening God's power of praise is through Miming or Pantomiming. Christian's praise dancing with white gloves and painted white faces. According to my study Pantomimes or the panto originated in early Greece. It was a dance of bodily movements; facial gestures preformed by actors held at festivals in honor of the god of theater, Dionysus in Athens. Mimes were used in Greek religious ceremonies and banquets also. The first pantomime actor that is known was Telestes in Greece. When the Romans adopted pantomime, homosexual men and bisexual women would paint their face white so you could not tell who's who. When Roman mimes performed at private banquets and courts all over Europe they honored the fertility goddesses and naked mime actresses would perform. Roman mimes was called fibula riciniata. Now one thing that is very disturbing to me is how some praise dancers today paint their faces white and dance before the Lord in church without understanding it's evil root purpose. Roman mimes would paint their face white and mimicked and make fun of the church. Early Christian's did not approve of mime because it had indecent behaviors and obscene language. Mimes also ridiculed the Church's sacraments and beliefs. Please hear me and hear me good. "Nowhere in the bible did God tell us to paint our faces and worship him in praise and dance" Indians and many African nations would paint their faces before they went into battle.
