My Stories

Solo Camp Ceria

One of the best memories when I was in my school is when I joined Solo camp. It was very awesome, because we were trained directly under Lanud (Pangkalan Udara). We trained for three days near the airport. We had many trainers, among them are Kak Anggi and Kak Weem.

In the first day, we had some kind of assembly in the field for the opening. Then, we went walking around the area for around 5 hours. It was really exhausting for us, and we had very little drink. It was a very big challenge for us, because we had to help our friends carry the heavy bags. We had to really help each other, especially for helping the girls. Then, we did our dzuhur pray and started to cook lunch. Then in the evening, we started to make our bivak. It was very difficult, because the ground was very hard. At night, it was raining, so we had to be in our bivak. Then, we had to move to the tent because the rain had ruined our bivak.

In the second day, we cooked breakfast and prepared to walk again. We walked far and long, until finally we got to the next area. In that area, we had to clean it up and make our natural bivak using leaves and sticks around the area. I was really tired at that time, and I felt ill. Many students fainted and I went to the clinic because I needed more oxygen. In the clinic, I slept all day and night. The next day, I started to move and walk.

In the third day, I came back to the camp. When I went back, we started to cook lunch. Then, we covered all our face with ash mixed with oil and our face became instantly black. Then, we went back to the field and did the closing ceremony as well as some photo sessions. We went home happy and tired, most of us sleeping on the way home..............
