Mark's Junk Page
If you haven't been to Nasa's Astronomy Pic Of the Day, take a minute to check it out. Every day they post a space-related picture from the Hubble, the Very Large Array, etc, and explain exactly what it's all about. There are some really striking pictures that make great desktop backgrounds, and some that are big enough to be wall posters. It's really really cool if you're at all interested in astronomy; it's the youngest, most lively branch of science nowadays (in my humble opinion).
i have taken these pictures from Nasa's website to give you an idea of what you can find there, but you really should see for yourself.
Go here to see some pics of Alaska's infamous 9.2 Earthquake

Sometimes the only thing that seems to bring me peace is stargazing. Looking at the ancient starlight is like looking into the past, and also like dreaming of the future.  i'm Intrigued to think about the wonders science might bring to us, or where it may take us.
Besides, it's just plain beautiful. The Greeks thought so - everyone does - but as far as they knew, we were at the heart of everything here on Earth.
Our universe is so complex... it can cure a lifetime of boredom. Noone will ever understand it completely; what a refreshing idea, to think that there will always be more to learn.
Even after I'm dead n' buried, it'll still be here, churning, changing, thriving.... how cool!
Hi Folks, this is where i waste some of my spare time, and maybe some of yours too.

That's my trombone teacher, Bill Booth, with the LA Opera low brass section... he's principal i think...he's really really good, and he's a great teacher. Bill's the number one studio trombone player in Los Angeles; that means he's been in a Zillion movie soundtracks, and stuff. That big fat instrument on the left,... um, i think it's a Sarussophone... actually, i think i'm wrong, but i can't think of what else to call it, so whatever. it's just like a tuba, except with the bell shaped like a trombone (also, the tuba's got a conical shape, where the trombone is, um, cylindrical or something) oh yeah, that big fat guy in the white is Placido Domingo too.. :D
CHECK IT OUT!!! i made something really neat!
I can make funny faces!
