MIKE CROWL'S MUSIC: ORDER FORM
On the 30th September, 2006, I presented the first full concert of my
compositions. Some of these pieces had been premiered previously,
but the remainder received their first public performance that night.
You can order any of the pieces from that concert (with the exception of the piano duet which is being revised). Email me with your details at [email protected]. I will send the piece(s) with an invoice within a week. I'm in the process of producing a CD of this concert. The price is yet to be confirmed, but should be no more than $20.00. Let us know if you'd be interested in a copy. Some of these pieces can also be heard online or ordered from Sibelius Music.
Songs for Barbara Hendry These songs were written for Barbara Hendry and performed by her in the early nineties at a Women's Musician Concert, with Ruth Dallas present. They are written for a mezzo with a good strong upper G.

Piano Pieces for Kobi Bosshard
These piano pieces were written in the 70s for a neighbour who was learning
the piano at the time (who also happens to be a renowned craftsman jeweller).
They were loosely based on some art works from a book, The Arts of
Man. The range in difficulty from intermediate to senior
level.

Children's Songs: written for Elizabeth Nisbet.
These are children's songs primarily in the sense that they have children's
themes. Neverthelss, with the exception of Eel Fishing
they can be sung by children (the three middle titles were sung by children
in the Concert). Eel Fishing is perhaps more suited to
an adult male singer with a resonant bass and a good F at the top.

Four Songs for Brent Read These four songs were commissioned by the young tenor, Brent Read, formerly from Dunedin, but now living in Auckland. They require some stamina (Church Sunday runs to around nine minutes), and Ecstasy, although it's relatively short, is a fast piece with some sustained high moments and a good solid A at the end. Clarity of words is an essential, as all four are based on relatively complex poems.
