Dan Funk Flying of the mountains.

One of the Best parts of our trip was meeting this guy! He flew-in, in his own Boeing 707. Any guesses as to who he is? I'll tell you in a few min.

Any guesses yet? Here he is shaking Dan Christman's hand, while Funk looks on. (Dick's the one taking the photo. Thanks Dick.)

OK, I'll tell you It's John Travolta. Here he is signing Dan Funk's Logbook.

Here is a pict of his plane. All this happend on 16 Dec 03, the day before the wright flight.

This is John Travolta's signature.

This is inside the hanger/tent that they kept the wright flyer in. Everyone was trying to get close to it. Good Luck!

Here is a Pict of the Wright Monument. There was supposed to be 35,000 people at the event.

Close-up of the monument.

Here is another Pict of the Wright Monument.

Another Pict of the monument.

It rained all day. Here is Dick Cole and Dan Funk in the middle of it all.

Dick and Dan C. trying to stay dry.

President Bush Stopped by to make an apperance and talk about aviation's impact on today's way of life.

Here is "Marine One" as it takes the President back to Andrews AFB. Later Air Force One flew overhead with the President on-board. (I didn't have my camera ready for that. Sorry no pict.)

John Travolta was the guest M.C. Here he is talking about his boyhood dream of becoming a pilot.

Here is a pict of the wright flyer as they take it out to fly.

This a View of the grandstand were everyone spoke.

Here is were all the press had their cameras.

Dick flying on the way back home.

Here is a pict of the weather we had to fly home in. Solid overcast from 1300 AGL to about 6000 MSL. We flew at 8000 MSL most of the way until they dropped us for traffic to 7000 MSL. We stayed at 7000 the rest of the way home.

There was one hole in the clouds, just east of Fort Wayne Indiana. It was only about 20 miles wide, then it closed back up like before.

We had to take a picture of this guy. We thought that he looked just like Al Miller. Al we didn't know you drove a bus too!
