Saturday 15 May 2004 - Wash & Wax Day at MFC
 Photo-documentary by Dwight Hammond

What a great turn out it was. With a great group of enthusiastic pilots it didn't take long to do the job.

While some had to lay low to get the dirty side to shine on 69T. . . .

. . . others started to work on 874. Overcast sky was perfect for the waxing.

I'm not sure, but I think I hear a snoring sound over there.

Hey Bob! Come back here, you missed a spot!

"Wax on - wax off, Daniel-san"

Some need a ladder... and some don't.

What a difference a little elbow grease and TLC makes. Keep this up and the paint job could be put off for years. She looks great!

After the work was done we had a bite to eat and listened to hangar tails.
Dave Miller grilled hot dogs and hamburgers.

After the wash, wax, catsup, and mustard, we took to the sky
at the challenge of Rex Sullivan for the spot landing event.
This is our club president squeaking one in right at the top of the 1000' mark.
The best so far!

After a few more aviators tested their metal, this instructor wants his turn!

Wow! There it is folks! MFC Instructor, Brent Prior wins the spot landing challenge by precisely 7.437 feet!
What an event! What a time in history it is, here today! What time is it anyway?

As you can see, our judges are astounded at the dynamic display of performance! Everyone had a fun-packed day at the airport and the airplanes got bathed and waxed!
But, WAIT! What's This?

Here is a shot of the real winner today! This young man, Brady Riley, 14, was first introduced to the flight controls today.
After demonstrating his skill and ability at the spot landing, Brent took the time to give this visitor an introduction flight.
