Different designs of Jewelry

        Filipinos are naturally creative especially when it comes to jewelry making.   The competition in this business is higher due to market's demand of beautiful designs and newer designs.  Even the most expensive jewelry will look cheap if didn't armed with nice design to compliment it. Here are the basic designs of Jewelry.

Men�s ring basic designs

1. Domino � The ring is either formed into square or rectangle or encrusted with 9 to 12 small diamond stones.

2. Horseshoe � The shape of the ring is just about like that � a horseshoe design � This design has seven to nine small diamond stones arrange along the shape of the horseshoe with one big diamond stone in the middle.

3. Solo - the most common shape of the ring with the design is circular oval or square with a big diamond stone set in the middle.

4. Birthstone ring � The ring id formed into various shapes such as emerald, oval, or round shape.

5. Initial or identification ring � this design is usually based on the shape of the letter representing the initials of the owners� name.


Ladies' ring basic designs

1. Tiffany � This design is most often used in engagement rings. The ring has a diamond stones and tiny chipas or diamond.

2. Ladies� initial � Similar to men�s ring, the ring is shaped according to into the letter representing the initial of the owner�s name.

3. Signet ring � The design of this ring usually bears an emblem seal, or zodiac sign. This design is usually done according to the owner�s desires.


Earrings basic designs

1. Creolla � The design is either circular or loop like.

2. Dermonilla � This design is composed of three parts

a. face- the setting of the small gemstone

b. post � the part which call locally �pakaw�

c. lock -  the part that that is usually inserted to the post so that  the earrings will stay in place

wherever they are worn.

3. picaforte or de kaha- This design features the old way of making an earring lock. It is similar to the creolla but it is not loop like, a gemstone can be part of the face.
