Brief history

        Filipinos have special fondness in jewelries. This fondness comes very strong especially among women. For jewelries has many uses which does not only accentuate a woman�s dress or body parts of her body but also serves a purpose of being a high-yielding investment that could easily be realized.

        Jewelry is used as integral part of any occasion. It has been traditionally ingrained as part and parcel of weddings, and other special events that greatly mark in people�s lives. Moreover, it has also been with us since time immemorial. This was passed jewelry from one generation to another generation becoming in the process precious family heirlooms.

        The local jewelry industry is a thriving business. These made it evident by the demands met by the industry�s capability of producing high quality products that are well designed in process with utmost care and passed the high-required standards that are globally competitive.

        Filipino jewelers give more importance to the quality of their work. The excellent craftsmanship can be seen in new designs and the innovativeness of finished products, undoubtedly a competitive edge over other craftsman of other jewelry exporting countries.

        The jewelry industry in the country is big. It employs are estimated 100,000 labor force and most of these small jewelry enterprises are scattered all over Metro Manila, Baguio, Camarines Norte and most especially at Meycauayan, Bulacan among other places in the entire country.

        The expert craftsmanship of the Filipinos in the art of goldsmith is highly recognized. This may be as surprise to many but the High Diamond Council of Antwerp, Belguim, has internationally acclaimed the jewelers of Meycauayan, Bulacan for their excellent craftsmanship in particulars.
