Paseo de la Reforma
| The Paseo del la Reforma is the most important and also the most beautiful avenue of the city, and one of the most famous of the world, because of the important buildings and monuments that are located there like the Mexico Stock Exchange or the world famous Angel of the Indepedence. | |||
| The Paseo de la Reforma was proyected by emperor Maximiliano of Habsburgh in order to reduce the distance that he had to go over from the Chapultepec Castle in Chapultepec to the National Palace in the Historic Dowtown, for that was planed this important avenue like the elegant boulevards of the some european cities such like the Champs Elysees of Parispara. Subsequent goverments improved the avenue by seeding trees, decorating the gardens and colocating urban furniture like benchs and the pedestals of the prinicipal heroes of each one state of the country. |

But not was until the goverment of Porfirio Diaz when the avenue was adornated for conmemoring the centennial of the Independence, because of that, in addition of the constructions that were built in the city in that times, constructions like the Palace of Fine Arts, in the Paseo de la Reforma were erected monuments that through the time, become the symbol of the city like the Angel de la Independencia. At the same time, the wealthiest families of the city, starting to built luxory houses that make increase enormously the land value of the zone. With the pass of the years and principally since the 1950's, the Paseo de la Reforma, saw the desaparition of the ancient mansions, the same that were replaced with modern office skyscrapers and big hotels, that configured this zone as the the financial distritc of Mexico City. |
| The Paseo de la Reforma is the most famous avenue of Mexico due to it deep cultural meaning, motivated for the history of the avenue and due to the monuments that are located there such as the Columbus Monument, the Cuauhtemoc monument, the Diana Cazadora Fountain in addition of the world famous Angel de la Independencia, Also in this avenue are located the world class hotels, the headquarters of the main financial groups of Mexico and Latin America, beautiful cafes and some of the most representative buildings of Mexico City like the Mexican Stock Exchange and Torre Mayor, the tallest building of Latin America. |
