	Coyoacan has its origins since the prehispanic epoque when it was a village located south of Tenochtitlan in the coasline of one of the numerous lakes that in past times covered the Valley of Mexico. This village became important after the fall of Tenochtitlan, because when Tenochtitlan was being reconstructed to give origin of todays downtown, in Coyoacan was temporary stablished the capital of the the New Spain. With the years, Coyoac�n became a place of rest to the families of the city and even the XX century the zone leave its ancient agricultural vocation when its was totally incorporated to Mexico City and in that way it became one of the typical neighborhoods of the city.
