Templo Mayor
| The ruins of the Templo Mayor are the rests of the Big Tenochtitlan, the aztec capital, a refinated and wealthy city with marvelous palaces and big temples, over that city the spanish conquers built the actual Mexico City. | |||
| This archeological site was discovered in the second half of the 20th Century during the construction works of the subway, since then there are realizated important investigations that are allowing to know better the aztec empire that in its splendor times went from the north of Mexico to Central America. | |

| Do to the arrive of the conquers they started to sistemacally destroy the major temples of the prehispanic towns in order to build with that stones the big catolic temples and palaces of the new spanish city, the Templo Mayor of Tenochtitlan was seriously injured but nowadays had remained the ancient lays of the pyramid where the investigators had found a big number of prehispanic treasures like stones weapons, mayan sculptures, jade and turqoise masks,vessels, little statues, gold jewels from Oaxaca, between others. All this objects can be seen in the Templo Mayor Museum near the site. | ||
