| 26th October 2002 @ Penryn College. Our first proper gig, and it wasn't bad. Started with a sketchy version of Silverchair's Year 2000 and then followed by a number of classic Chili's. By the Way was pulled off well which was to the crowds liking. Otherside, an Acoustic version of Scar Tissue, and finsihed off with a fine version of Californication. A good starting gig, and things will get better. 14th March 2003 @ Penryn Rugby Club. A lot of preparation went in to this gig, and it paid off. The Chili's covers were still in there but more was added and these turned out to be what are now MHC signatures. Opening ar precisly 7.30pm, Silverchair's Freak was to everyone's liking and then there was no turning back. Around the World followed, then some Scar Tissue. A crowd favourtie Stalker by Audiovent was next on the list, then Otherside. Some of By the Way and then the Nirvana classic Rape Me was pulled off to great affect. Reef's Place Your Hands was followed by a 10min break for the band to get a drink. Back in the spotlight and a acoustic Pardon Me was given it's MHC blessing. Give It Away was blasted out to great affect and then Californication followed. The final bow was made from Silverchair's Tomorrow. A great gig, great feedback from the guys at the front, and this left MHC buzzing. 20th March 2003 @ Falmouth Rugby Club To much eagerness made this gig one to forget. The same set as the previous weeks was played in the same order and definately wasn't as affective. Major technical difficulties were mainly to blame due to the huge amounts of feedback and the pulsating crowd surging forward sometimes past the barriers and into the band. To soon after last weeks gig, definately. As they say, you have good gigs, you have bad gigs, and this was a bad gig. 10th May 2003 @ Penryn College A shorter set than normal due to the bands wanting of less Chili's, and more metal and grunge. A new song to the set was Silverchair's Israels Son. A new MHC signature was born and has been a regualr since. After opening with Israels Son, the band kicked into Stalker and then Pardon Me. Rape Me once again went without a flaw and went down like a rock in water. Usual set ender Tomorrow was one before the end tonight and was performed to it's current best. The set ended with Freak and this seemed to be an ideal end for the crowd. A good gig after the last disaster, and it was showing some promise in the band. Chili's had left the set, and it was earmarking new territory for the band. 7th June 2003 @ Penryn Rugby Club Again, a short set, but so so so good. Israels Son opened and Stalker followed. Rape Me was crowd pleasing as per usual and Freak was as phat as it has ever sounded. Ending with Tomorrow was a great choice as it bettered it's previous performance, and the previous perfomance was special. This gig has produced our best feedback to date and many people have said that we were the best sounding band that night....as if we argued!! 11th & 12th December 2003 @ Penryn College 'Dance Production' Dance Production we here you say. It was different to say the least but alot of fun. We done 2 songs with the dancers and 2 of our choice. With the dancers we done the Chili's CantStop and Dandy Warhols Bohemian like You. We wouldn't noramally do these type of songs as you know but they turned out to be alot of fun, and we enjoyed doing them. Of our own choice we done what we consider to be our best songs, Silvercair's Israels Son & Tomorrow. Two technical errors happened these nights. On the first night Neil's lead packed in during Israels Son, but luckily the audience found the funny side as Ross said "We seem to have a problem". On the second night during Israels Son again, Ross' pedals fuse blew and Ross was left with no sound. It came back and we got back on with it. Everyone noticed but seemed to forgive us...which was good. We must give a huge thatnks to Ruth Richards of Penryn College for giving us this oppurtunity to try something new. We very much appreciate it. And we thank the dancers aswell for supporting us when we cocked up etc etc etc. 5th March & 14th May Gig reveiws coming soon! |
