Sí, existen las placas mexicanas de tamaño europeo, pero NO SON OFICIALES. Técnicamente no son legales, aunque son toleradas en muchos lados. Se consiguen en algunas tiendas de accesorios para autos (cada día es más dificil hallar una tienda que las ofrezca). Ellos checan qué numero de placas tienes y sólo te hacen ese mismo número en formato europeo. Son hechas de plástico y las tienen en una semana, mas o menos. Siempre debes traer las otras. Dependiendo qué tan tolerantes sean en la jurisdicción en la que andes, los polis 1) quizá nomás verifiquen que coincidan con el engomado, 2) quizá te paren para verificar que traes las oficiales, o 3) podrían imponerte una multa. Lo mejor es no arriesgarse y trear las placas oficiales tamaño americano.
