"I wonder where Serena is…" Ash wondered.

"It’s been three whole days! I hope she’s not hurt…" Misty said worriedly. Brock just sat there with a blank expression on his face.

"Pika Pika Pi chu (Brock….are you okay?)?" Pikachu asked him.

"Huh…yeah…I’m okay. Just thinking." Brock replied.

"About….." Ash asked.

"Nothing." Brock said harshly. Ash, Misty, and Pikachu looked at each other and shrugged.

"Where do we start looking for Serena?" Misty asked.

"Um…let’s try…Saffron. What do you think?" Ash asked.

"Sounds good." Misty answered. "Brock, what do you think?"

"Great…" He said, kind of off in his own little world.

"Okay….let’s just get going." Ash said as he released Lapras. "Lapras, can you please take us to Vermilion City?"

"Ash, we want to get to Saffron, not Vermilion!" Misty yelled at him.

"I know that! But there is no waterway from here to Saffron!" He retorted.

"Oh yeah…sorry." She said, blushing.

They all climbed onto Lapras’s back as she took off.

Mewtwo silently landed on the eastern Seafoam Island. Serena jumped off of his back and looked around.

"Mewtwo, why did we stop here?" Serena asked, confused.

"I need to visit an old friend. Follow me." He said, walking forward into the cave. Serena hesitated, but then ran forward to keep up with his long strides. Suddenly a loud screech filled the air.

"Eeeekkk!!!!" Serena screamed, then grabbed onto the nearest thing she could find. When she realized that she had absent-mindedly grabbed Mewtwo’s tail, and that he was looking back at her smirking, she let go quickly and blushed a deep shade of red. Mewtwo just shook his head. "Um…sorry about that….that screech kinda freaked me out…" she stammered.

"Don’t worry. That was just Articuno. Anyway, I think your scream scared it more than his scream scared you." Mewtwo laughed. Serena just blushed an even deeper shade of red.

"Is….Articuno….your ‘friend?’" She asked nervously.

"No….he’s a neighbor. We’re coming up on my friend’s house." He replied.

" ’Kay…um…who exactly is your friend?" She asked.

"Her name is Cheshire Kat. I call her C.K. for short. She helped me ‘recover’ after New Island."

They trudged on about ¼ mile more before they reached Cheshire Kat’s home. When they finally arrived, Serena saw that it was a branch of the cave. There was a wooden roof over the top, and on the sides there were small glass windows. Awww!!! What a cute little house!!! Serena thought.

Right before Mewtwo knocked on the door, it opened. A girl with blue jeans, and a black trenchcoat was standing there, holding the door open. She had red-brown hair and was of medium height.

"OH MY GOD!!! MEWTWO!" She squealed as she wrapped her arms around Mewtwo. "It’s been so long!!!"

Mewtwo sweat-dropped, then said, "Uh…it’s nice to see you too C.K…."

She sure is being friendly…Serena thought, leaning up against a boulder.

"How’ve you been? And who’s this? Your girlfriend?" Cheshire Kat asked, referring to Serena.

Mewtwo and Serena both blushed, sweat-dropped, and shook their heads ‘no’.

"I see…." C.K. said, smiling an evil smile….

"C.K….don’t get any ideas now…Serena and I are just friends…nothing more…okay?" Mewtwo told her.

"Yeah…sure…anyway…I----" C.K. attempted to say.

"I hate to cut you off, but we have to ask you something…" Serena cut in.

"Yes. We want to know if you would like to help us search for Serena’s friends." Mewtwo asked.

"I’d love to!!! It’s been my dream to travel with you, Mewtwo!!!" She replied.

I’d love to…it’s been my dream…Who does she think she is?!?!? I tell you who she is!!! She’s just a big flirt!!! Serena thought angrily.

"Yoo-hoo!!! Earth to Serena!!! C’mon, let’s go!!!" Cheshire Kat said, locking her house up and then hopping onto Mewtwo’s back. "Oh…there’s…no…more…room…" C.K. said.

"That’s okay. I can levitate." Serena retorted.

"Uh…you can…?" Mewtwo asked her.

"Yes. I can!" She replied. Oh boy. Why did I open my big, fat mouth? Okay, I know I can do this…Here goes…One, two, three! Serena concentrated, then slowly rose off of the ground. OH MY GOD!!! I DID IT!!! I DID IT!!!

"Okay then…are we ready to go?"

"Yes….we are…." Serena growled. "Let’s just get out of here."

Serena flew ahead of Mewtwo until they were out of the cave. Then she waited.

"Where should we start looking? I think…maybe Cerulean City." Serena suggested once they were in the open skies.

"Oh no…I think that we should go to Saffron. That’s a much more practical place."

"Mewtwo? What do you think?" Serena challenged.

Good God…why do I always get in the middle of rival spats? "I guess we should…go to…neither. I personally think that we should go to the Safari Zone." He said.

Both knowing that if they dare not argue with the most powerful pokemon in the world, and that he could kill them with one blast (not likely, though, because they’re friends), they agreed.

They changed directions and headed towards the Safari Zone.

"Phew…we finally made it to Saffron." Ash sighed as he sat down on the ground.

"I’m tired and starving…" Misty complained.

"Let’s go to the Pokemon Center. Nurse Joy will probably let us stay there tonight." Brock said.

"Pika Pi chu…(I can’t walk another step…)" Pikachu said tiredly.

"Hey…let’s not forget why we’re here!!! We came here to find Serena!!! We can’t give up now!!!" Ash told them.

"Ash, it’s late. It’s getting dark. Even if we did look for Serena tonight, we wouldn’t be able to see very well….and we would look harder if we’re all energized up tomorrow morning. So let’s get to the Pokemon Center and rest until tomorrow. Then we can search for Serena. Okay?" Misty asked him.

"I guess you’re right." Ash replied.

"Pika Pika chu chu (I agree with Misty…)…" Pikachu agreed.

"Me too." Brock said.

"Let’s get going, then. Nurse Joy won’t let us in after 9:15. We’d better hurry!" Misty told them. They all started running to the nearby Pokemon Center. In about 10 minutes, they ran up to the front door of the Center. They walked in, and saw Nurse Joy filling out papers. She looked up and noticed them.

"Hi guys! I haven’t seen you in a while? How are you?" She asked.

"We’re all fine. Can we stay here tonight and have our pokemon recovered?" Ash asked her.

"Sure! There are some cots over in the corner, and I can take your pokemon." She said, smiling. Ash, Misty, and Brock handed over their pokeballs to Nurse Joy. Pikachu jumped onto her shoulder. "Thank you!" She said. She disappeared into the back for a moment, then reappeared without the pokeballs. "You all look beat. Why don’t you go to bed?"

They slowly walked to the cots, and laid down on them. Soon they were all fast asleep.

Mewtwo flew down and landed in the edge a forest surrounding a beautiful lake. Cheshire Kat jumped off of his back and looked around. She picked out a spot on the ground and laid down.

"I’m going to bed…." She yawned. "Goodnight." She soon was alseep.

Serena sighed as she gazed down at the beauty surrounding her. She then flew down and joined Mewtwo who was watching the lake. They both walked up to the shore and sat down on a big rock.

"I’m really sorry about back there. But if C.K. doesn’t get her way, she REALLY gets cranky." Mewtwo apologized.

"That’s okay…I was a bit jealous, I guess. I shouldn’t have been mean to her…" Serena blushed. They both looked at the reflection of the moon in the water. "The moon is beautiful, isn’t it?" She said.

"Yes, it is." Mewtwo replied. Suddenly they both looked at each other. They slowly leaned forward….and then……
