Drumman
blinked, his vision slowly returning to him. Almost immediately, he could
feel something was very off. The sky above him was blue, indicating he
was no longer in the Dimension of Darkness. He closed his eyes again, trying
to think of how he'd gotten there.
Ah... there'd been an explosion somewhere in the doctor's lab; that
pest Mewsagi had raided the base and caused the kind of chaos only she
could cause. Again. A portal opened and he'd been thrown through. Wait,
but there was something that happened before that...
He sat up and looked around. There were three humans nearby: one dressed
in green and brown, just coming to, one unconscious beside him, and another
squatting down in front of him. They seemed very familiar somehow...
"Are you okay?" the tall man before him asked. Wait... he knew that
voice.
He blinked.
And blinked again.
"Scanman?"
The other nodded.
"Then... That's Pointman, and Goldman..." He looked down at himself.
He was turned human too. "Um... what happened?"
Scanman shrugged. "Too many things exploded at once and caused something
to turn us and the other robot masters human. You three were thrown through
the portal; Doctor Tenecha sent me after you to make sure you three got
back safely."
Drumman blinked. That... had to be the most he'd ever heard Scanman
say. "Does she really think we're that stupid?" He frowned, not pleased
with that thought. Scanman only raised an eyebrow at him and stood up.
Drumman stared. "...Tall..."
Pointman listened and watched. "We look like freaks." He commented.
Drumman glared; Scanman remained silent. Goldman was still unconscious.
"Where are we, anyway?"
"We should ask someone." Drumman suggested. He stood up and nudged goldman
with his foot. "Wake up already..."
Goldman woke with a start. He sat up, blinked and stared at his companions.
"Ohmigosh you're human."
"Excellent observation there." Drumman snarked.
"You're human as well, Goldman." Pointman pointed out.
"...I am?!" He whined. "I don't wanna be human! How do we change back?"
"Um... I don't know." Drumman said.
"Doctor Tenecha said she would start working on a way to turn us back
after her lab gets repaired." Scanman stated.
Drumman groaned. "That could take a while, considering the extent of
the damage that explosion made... She's gotta get everything fixed, then
take inventory and probably buy some new equipment..."
"Plus we don't even know which dimension we're in. We could be stuck
here quite a while." Pointman continued. "It could take months, maybe even
years before they find us."
"I don't wanna be a human for years!"
"Well right now we don't have much of a choice."
Scanman cleared his throat. Once he had their attention, he reached
behind his left ear and produced a tiny tracking device. The other three
sighed in relief; of course the doctor would make sure she had some way
to find them again. At most they'd be stuck for only a month or two.
"Still," Drumman said, "I'd like to know just where we are. We should
take a look around and see if we can find somewhere to stay." They'd barely
taken a few steps when something roughly the size of a chicken flew past
them, screeching madly. Goldman shrieked, jumping onto Pointman. "It's
gonna eat us!"
"That...." Drumman laughed. "It was just a Pidgey, Goldman. It won't
eat us."
"No, but it might try to kill us anyway. It's coming back!"
Goldman shrieked again, letting go of Pointman and running off. Pointman
growled. "Get back here!" he shouted, taking off after the blond. Drumman
and Scanman barely glanced at each other before following, the Pidgey screeching
furiously after them.

They paused at the edge of a city to catch their breath. "Being human...
sucks..." Goldman panted. Drumman nodded his agreement.
"I'm definitely not liking this part of being human..." Pointman grumbled.
Scanman, however, seemed perfectly at ease.
"Well, now that we've found civilization, we should find a place to
stay." Drumman said. "Because I, for one, am not sleeping out here where
I could get rained on or something."
"Or eaten." Goldman added.
"I told you, Pidgeys don't eat humans!"
"Says you." Goldman stuck his tongue out before running to hide behind
Pointman. Who took no notice whatsoever, as he was staring into the crowds
before them.
Or more specifically, a familiar figure in the crowds. "Hey, isn't that
Alex...?"
"Hey! We should ask if we can stay with him!" Drumman grabbed one of
Goldman's pigtails before he could run off again.
"Not a good idea. He's the enemy! We can't stay with him!"
"So?" Goldman retorted. "He stays overnight at master Mewthree's base
all the time, why can't we stay at his place for a while? Plus, he's someone
we know... Sort of." He tugged his hair out of Drumman's grasp before running
after the hybrid before he could disappear.
"I still don't think it's a very good idea." Drumman sighed.
Pointman shrugged. "Well, it's better than nothing at least. He knows
how to blend in with the humans. We, well... don't."
"Why do you always have to have a point...?"
"Because I'm Pointman, it's my job."
Goldman came running back a moment later. "He says we can stay! Come
on!"
