Aspects of the English Language is a class that I was nervous about taking this semester because I was not sure what to expect from the class.  I was not sure if I was going to enjoy the class or dread it. After attending the first class I knew that I was going to enjoy the class.  Now that the class is over and I look back at every thing I learned in class I realize how much this class has taught me and how much it will continue to help me in the future.  I enjoyed coming to class and learning about different aspects of English.  The part of the class that I enjoyed the most was the class presentations.  It seemed like all of the presentations were done with enthusiasm and every presentation taught me something that I did not know before the presentation.  My favorite presentations were the ones on College Slang, African-American Slang and Borrowing. Another part of the class that I enjoyed was doing think fast when we first got into the classroom.  Think Fast helped me to get my focus on the reading that was due for that class period.  It also helped that after think fast there would be an explanation of what we were suppose to get out of the reading for that class. The web page is a part of the class that was challenging but benefiting in the end.  The linguistic guide was helpful because I really learned a lot about sexist language.  I like the web pages because it is helpful to be able to look at everyone's web page and learn more about their linguistic guide subject.  The three things that I learned about in class that I enjoyed the most were syntactic ambiguity, jargon, and dyslexia.  I enjoyed learning about everything that was taught in class but these are three of the subjects that interested me more than some others.  The only thing in the class that I did not enjoy was the text book.  It was hard to get into the reading because it was difficult to understand a lot of it.  I did like that I had the book on hand as a reference book but it was hard to read it as a textbook.  I enjoyed this class and feel that I have learned many things that I did not know before.
