UFC: Throwdown
Platform: Gamecube
Rated: T (Teen)
UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) is becoming very popular ever since their first video game release for the Dreamcast. Now Crave entertainment and Genki are releasing UFC: Throwdown for Gamecube and PS2, but I'm revewing the Gamecube version. This game features the best mixed marshal artists in the world, from Tito Ortiz to Frank Shamrock. There are different modes of play, arcade mode is simply just fighting random fighters, champion mode is fighting opponents in your weight class till you win the title, if you win a title, you can go to legend mode, where you defend your title till you win against the secret character (you get it when all the defalt characters gold belts). Tournament mode is simply just you and your friends fighting in a tournament.Training mode is practice and career mode is making and training a custom character. What is neat about career mode is there is a variety of faces, clothing, moves, disciplines, body, and nicknames. Unlike the championship mode on the Dreamcast, your life is back to full after each fight, but not round. the controls are very simple with one or two button moves. The graphics are very nice and smooth but not life-like. The sound is not something to look foward to, the voices are nice but the announcements are too slow. The only thing good about the sound is the music featuring Diecast. This game is worth renting first but if your a fan of UFC then you might like it, now "LET'S GET IT ON".

THE SCORE :
Graphics: 4.0
Sound: 2.5
Controls: 4.0
Gameplay 3.5
