| Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is actually two games fused together. Konami took the original story, script, characters and areas from the original Metal Gear Solid game and fused it with the gameplay and controls of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Libery. In the game, you play as Solid Snake a former member of FOXHOUND, Snake is forced out of retirement to help save the world from a terrorist threat, and the terrorists are members of Snakes former army unit FOXHOUND. Snake's mission is to infiltrate a nuclear weapons disposal facility without being noticed, rescue 2 hostages, and find out if the terrorists have the ability to launch a nuclear weapon. If you played the original game, you probably remember how hard it was when it first came out. Well with the same controls and gameplay as Metal Gear Solid 2, Konami made the game easier to play along with new gameplay options from Metal Gear Solid 2 including a radar that is on all the time even when you are spotted, a first-person mode so you can easily aim at the terrorists, and hanging on ledges. The game also features new cinematics as well as the old ones (even the ones that refer to you playing the game), and in the cinematics are amazing graphics that show the true power of the Gamecube. The sound is also great too, in fact the original cast from the original game re-created the entire script over again for the sake of the new game. The game is very fun to play and because of the new gameplay, anyone can enjoy it, from beginner to the interrigation masters. Here's a fun secret, save the game with a memory card with Super Smash Bros. Melee, Eternal Darkness, Super Mario Sunshine, and/or The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker saved data and befor you fight Psycho Mantis, he has something to say about your gaming habits. In conclusion, this re-created classic is the game to buy even if you still have the original. It has some very interesting secrets, fun gamplay for all, and amazing graphics and sound re-created for the next-generation of gaming. Pros: Fun gameplay for all, amazing graphics and sound, and great for beginners. Cons: No VR Training (WHY DID THEY FORGET THIS?!!!), could use the same codec look from Metal Gear Solid 2 (3-D heads that you can move around), and no need to press start THEN the A button to use codec. Score: 8/10 |
